I have been offered a new job with another company. Part of the deal includes fully expensed company car, or opt out option with expenses, however my annual mileage will go from less than 8k to more than 35k pa (30k+ business, as I will work across 3 sites in Sussex, London and Leicester). So the question is, what to do with the G4?
It is by far the best car I have ever had, but is it practical to keep? Or is it practical to get rid of it in the current market anyway? So for a humourous weekend poll, I though I would ask my virtual bar room mates for your opinions?
PS you can send me an offer by PM in case I decide on the 'flog it' option!Craig

I'd go with BM! Alternatively I'd keep it and go for high mpg on the cc option.2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +
2022 Tesla Model Y LR... almost Carpathian Grey
Previously : 2005 TDV6 SE Auto, Cairns Blue (288K) - ours for 16 years
If you find yourself in a regular commute situation where you encounter a particuler pr1ck regularly, then you can always take the d3 one day and give him some back!
Need to add an option for BM and JohnC - How?Craig

I'm with DiscoDad. Get thee a mid-range eurobox on the company and leave weekends for your special car I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Keep the G4. LPG conversion it. That will pay for itself in less than a year. Then you're quids in.

no no no! ( ) because every company business horrible mile you do and jam you sit in, you'd be wishing no matter how bad and whatever unreasonable hour it was at, that you'd been sat in a D3 doing it instead of the Audi/BMW/Saab/whatever....
especially each time you saw another one...and theeeeennn......???

You've not driven a Mondeo lately have you. Very good car.
Or perhaps a C6 I'd love to get one of those in a couple of years when they've depreciated to about 48pI know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Brand new C6 is a great car but a bad way to blow 20 grand in 12 months"its probably a virus, you'll be right as rain in a few days and if you're playing sport try to favour the other leg"

no, you've got me Al ! haven't sat/driven or otherwise in a eurobox since leaving the Pug 406 3.0 and partaking of the D2 in 2002...
(apart from the odd taxi here and there)
and don't have any plans to until motors like the D3 are so expensively out of reach,
mind you at the other end of the scale, did have a sit in the driver's seat of the boss's new ( White ) X6 yesterday and the D3 looked small next to it and theeeeennn......???
