Front Orange Body Mount
Hi all, I could do with some advice, when I changed the screen wash reservoir I was sure I noticed that the orange body mount nearest to the reservoir seemed to have a crack in it. Is this possible?
Because my knowledge of the D3 was minimal, at the time I thought this was odd.
I would have imagined that they were made from some kind of hard rubber compound.
Question is, can it be changed without removing the body, if it can how do I go about it, your thoughts please. ThanksRegards Tony

Not an uncommon occurrence and a few on the forum have noticed cracks in them. No doubt there are many more out there with cracks that have yet to be noticed.
I've never changed one so not sure how practical it is to split the car slightly to change them as a DIY job. Does not look impossible either so hopefully someone will have done it before.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Orange Body Mounts
I've been looking on line for information, gotta say there's not much out there on this subject. Although what info i have, it looks like you have lift the body up enough to swap the washers out. Probably end up an epic of a job. I couldn't even find the proper name or part number either, probably end up asking TLO.Regards Tony

I believe they are called chassis isolators and I am sure TLO will know all about them.
As far as I can tell the whole assembly is comprised of:

Easy enough to change just remove body bolts down the side your doing and jack the body up about 10mm the bush sits in a little recess in the chassis about 5mm you might get away with taking just 1 or 2 body bolts out,but I've not tried it that way myself Wanted D4s non runners pm for competitive price.

As above, undo a few body mounts and Jack the body away from the chassis. The number of mounts that need undone depend on which one needs changing. if it does not lift high enough to swap, undo the next ones back and try again.

Thanks fellas, that’s sounding very positive already, for me the offending mount is just right of the windscreen wash reservoir. So I'm thinking bumper off first?Regards Tony
