Help! Fitting Rear seat belts for first time (5 seat)
Hi,
I bought a Disco van that was a car with seemingly all the parts required to re-instate (I have the certificate of conformity and have the Swiss MOT on Friday, an appointment I would dearly like to keep!). Only thing is I haven't fitted the rear seat belts and seats yet. I have all the parts for the seats. However I took a look at the belts for the first time tonight . Maybe I am being thick, maybe there's (another) part missing...
Firstly - I have three fixings (or does one go in to the other?)
* Belt coil with bracket with a nut welded on. The coiled belt seems locked up (both sides)
* Loose fitting on belt with bolt
* What seems to be an anchor point with bolt.
There's a sticky out bit on the metal frame for the belt coil which logically should sit in something...
How the frick does this go back together!?
Cheers,
Andy
ps sorry the pictures are wonkey

You might find the bolt holes have been welded up so it won't be easy to fit the seats!D3 x2 now gone

Hi Guys,
There was a shear bolt on each side for some mounting bolt - Now removed. Likewise a gazillion in the floor pan, also removed. Nothing welded so far as I can see.
Inigo - did you mean to post a different link? This one doesn't show me the belt mounts and is for seats... though I think I just made a leap... does one or more of my bolts or coil assembly mount to the seats themselves?
Thanks,
Andy

From what I remember, bolt on end of belt into floor, near door post, bolt with the trim bit at the top of the door post and the reel at the bottom of the door post behind the trim.
Need to make sure you get all the trim bits in the right place before bolting it all up. Bolts are supposed to be single use, so if you forget a bit of trim, you are supposed to throw old bolt away and use a new one.
I found the reel seemed permanently locked until it was in the correct orientation as it would be mounted in the car.
