I've finaly made some time to get some better images of the brackets I made.
Basically they clamp around the front cross member behind the Bumper using a big set screw like a 'G' Clamp and then two large Self teppers in the top to steady them.
As mentioned this is so I can remove them at any point and with the grill fitted you'd never know they had been there.

Thanks Nasher they look
I have another question though: I have the LR aux spot light switch but I am trying to work out which pin does what? There are 5 pins on the back of the switch. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this switch?
Cheers guys, I am slowly getting there with wiring them in

Thanks Guys
Sorry Sailorboi, I worked out the pins on the back of the switch as I went along and soldered wires onto them.
I do remember you will have to switch the -ve supply to the relay as it's the only way to get the internal LED in the switch to light up when the switch is in the on position.

Thanks Nasher,
I saw that post and have read through it and get the switching but I am still struggling to find out which of the 5 to use. I only need three I guess: power in and out and the negative. So not really sure why there are 5 pins on the switch/ struggling to work out what does what. My loom is all made just need to find the in, out and neg on the switch and get it wired up.
How did you work it out? Using a multi meter and the resistance? Or some other way. I am trying with the multi meter but am not an electrician and just guessing hence the question
But thanks for the heads up about swapping for the LED. you don't happen to remember which pins you used on the switch? I saw in your post that you said you have two spare for the illumination. If I know which three that limits my questing
Cheers again

Sailorboi
I've just found some scribbled notes on my pad in the garage that I made whilst wiring up the switch.
They are not complete, and not correct auto electrician lingo, but this is what I have with a short note of what I think I meant at the time.
I did work it all out with a multi-meter, and can't remember having to change anything.
Pin 1 - Ground
ie straight to an earth on the car.
Pin 4 - Switched Ground.
ie with the switch in the on position this connects to Pin 1 to supply a path to ground for the relay(I assume you're using a relay).
Pin 5 - LED +ve supply
ie providing a +ve 12V supply to this pin means the internal indicator LED will come on when you swtich the spots on.
That's all I have I'm afraid.
I never did get around to linking the switch into the lighting circuit to give a back light with the main lights on, but I'm assuming one or both of the other pins are connected to the internal backlight LED.

Nasher,
Thank you so much for the info, I have managed to work it out and your wiring was spot on. Well it works on the bench with the home made loom I have now to fit it and wire it all up. Just 2 more questions. When you tapped into the main beam did you do it into both main beam feeds or can you do just one. I saw in Iains wiring diagram earlier in the post he used diodes and went into both is this necessary? 2ndly I assume the main beams are the earth to make it complete the circuit once you have tapped into the feed?
Thanks again for your help with the switch

You are very welcome.
You only need to tap into one +ve supply to the main beam, and use it as the +ve feed to the relay coil.
That way the Spotights can only come on when Main beam is on which keeps the MOT man happy.
Hope that makes sense.
