Stronger tailgate struts?
Hi Guys,
My tailgate struts were always fine, perhaps feeling a bit weak, however now I've got the ProSpeed ladder on there I either need to get it a little blue pill or some better struts.
Can I just replace with new OEM struts, or are there some uprated ones available?
Also will I have any problems replacing them, horror stories of dropped nuts from loose struts scare me.
All help very much appreciated.

These guys can make them to any spec you want and often way cheaper than origin fit.
I got mine from them - I went for 520N units - standard are 485 - possibly a little too much gas, but even now its gone colder, they still have plenty of spring Mark.

I had the same problem when I added my ladder it couldn't hold its self up. I bought my ladder powerful.co.uk and it is quite heavy. I bought my new struts off the bay, think they where about £12 and there fab, boot now goes up on its own and fast. Took a while to get use to I kept forgetting to move out of the way before it took my head off .That was a year ago and still just as good as they day I fitted them

Then rang 01332 576 850 and spoke to Thomas - ordered the 500N struts and out they came in the post in a couple of days. Great service from them it has to be said.
Edit: I rang rather than ordered off the site to be sure to be sure
Bit fiddly fitting them but a couple of loud shouty and I was alright A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.
