Fuel tank capacity
I bought a D4 MY12 (3.0 LR-SDV6 256PS) in June 14.
According to literature the fuel tank is supposed to be .....82.3L
Despite the low fuel light on and the computer saying only 10miles left... I only managed to squeeze in to overflowing...69L.
Are the computer and the orange light REALLY that far out? Not that I want to run down to 0miles but it would be useful to know if I am getting false readings/level sensing ...or whether the tank is 10+L smaller.

Yes, noticed the same, not a problem, the D4 has a large reserve. Software simulates when you run out of fuel to prevent the injectors and pump running dry causing damage.
The Fuel burning heater also used to get issues under a quarter of a tank after 3 or so failed attempts........also fixed here.
So no issues.

Perhaps I am being unrealistic but it would be nice to have a more accurate correlation between the measuring devices. I can understand a need to maintain a minimum level ...but 15L?!?
There have been occasions when towing on French autoroutes (and getting used to mpg) that I have responded to the 20miles to go warning and used motorway priced fuel. When the extra even 5 or 10litres would have gotten me off the autoroute to cheaper fuel.
Its just another thing to get used to after changing vehicle make for the first time in many years. My previous make had a remarkably accurate speedo, good mpg computation and predictable capacity...just takes a little getting used to the approximation in LR readouts.

The speedo and trip computer can be tweaked to be very accurate.
The missing 10 litres or so has no fix available. The most I have squeezed in is 74.60 litres on 25 Apr 14. It cost me £101.38.

If I run my MY12 down to zero miles and then do another 10 miles or so I can get 82 litres in. When I had my MY10 I could only get about 75 litres in.2016 D4 Landmark - Waitomo/Ebony

Interesting exercise.
Yesterday I set off on a journey with a scale above the empty line and the computer saying 80miles to empty. After a stop 40miles away, when I returned to the vehicle the low fuel light came on, the scale was at the bottom and the computer said 8miles. I set off to my prearranged fuel stop 9miles away!
The computer continued to go down, but the scale jumped up to above the lowest line and the low fuel warning went out. On reaching the garage the computer said 3miles to empty....I managed to get only 68litres to brill full.
It seems to me that after its initial drop and low fuel warning light, the scale was telling the 'truth' but the computer was just doing its own countdown several miles out.
I am not likely to plan to run this low in future, but on this experience, I am more inclined to ignore the computer and just keep an eye on the gauge and low fuel light.
but jeez, when will you people join us in the 21st century?

You might produce very good wine in Stellenbosch but we produce very good cars here in England and find it very difficult to give up our imperialism .

Is this something that can be done with the IIDTool Robbie?
