SRS faults
Hi all, bear with me, my first fault post on my Disco 3 that ive had just over a month!
Got myself A IIDtool BT as I have SRS permanently stuck on the odometer, the airbag light comes on and goes off as expected.
After reading the codes I get the following under the Airbag ecu...
Airbag
• B0010-1B (AF) Passenger's frontal stage 1 - deployment control - General electrical failure - circuit resistance above threshold
( at 156832 km )
• B0011-1B (AF) Passenger's frontal stage 2 - deployment control - General electrical failure - circuit resistance above threshold
( at 156832 km )
• B0028-1B (AF) Unknown
( at 156832 km )
• B0029-1B (AF) Unknown
( at 156832 km )
• B00D2-68 (AF) Restraint system malfunction indicator 1 - Algorithm based failure - event information
( at 156832 km )
Obviously the top two point to the passenger front airbag, this afternoon Ive been having a poke around and removed some of the dash and top glove box, heres what Ive found...
This was under drivers side seat, I have since reconnected it where it should go and it hasnt made any difference.
After further investigation behind the dash I found 3 connectors loose, one spade connector is obviously a ground connection, but I dont know what the other two yellow connectors are for?
I can see the connection on the metal part for the ground but no place for the other connectors
Ive been poking around a bit, and it might just be me not knowing exactly where it is, but it seems like the passenger airbag is missing?
Could the airbag of been removed for some reason?
Thanks

I'm no LR expert but I've messed about with a fair few airbags (I teach firefighters RTC techniques)… yellow connectors nearly always indicate SRS. Be careful when you undertake any work around airbags, they can still be activated even with the battery disconnected.
An airbag is a pretty obvious looking device… does look a lot like yours is missing. Any chance your car has been involved in an accident?? I can't think of any other reason someone would remove one?!

I've had a quick look and after finding one on eBay, it seems the airbag should be where the hole is in the bottom Pic. At least that's how it looks to me, with a connector on each end.
Really not sure why someone would remove it. As far as I know it hasn't been in a reported accident, only thing I can think of is that it's been removed because of a fault.
Can anyone pull the end trim off with the cup holder and have a look up to see if their airbag is visible.
Thanks

How long have you had your D3, did you buy it from a garage, have you done a HPI check to see if there is anything recorded against it?MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Had it for just over a month, came from a garage and ive had a check done with no problems coming up.
This is what ive found on ebay, weird as the metal housing is still there but the inner part is missing, not sure how easily it would be removed!
There doesn't appear to be any evidence of any front end damage and repairs,

It wasn't a LR dealer just a local garage so doubt they'd be interested in it, and to be honest id rather just sort it myself, would something like this need to be coded to my car or just simply fit and connect? MOT due in May and no advisories to do with the airbag, although airbag light behaves as it should, just SRS on the odometer.

I would personally take it back to the garage as it clearly is not fit for purpose with the fact the air bag is missing, as for MOT I believe the SRS would raise concerns with the testerMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Hi all,
I bought a discovery 3 2.7tdv6 which was involved in a small accident. Both the driver and passenger airbags were deployed. I have already replaced the airbags plus the seat belt pretensioners and the driver seat belt retractor but the airbag light is still on. The car has 2 faults B0010 and B0011. Is there anything else I need to change for the light to go off and to get rid of these two faults.
Any idea? Need help!
Thanks

Hi gstuart,
I had used snap on diagnostic machine and some other machine here at landrover service centre which I don know. They could remove the driver airbag and pretensioner faults but could not remove B0010 and B0011. Is there a need of changing the airbag ecu?
Thanks

u can send it away to be reset if the diagnostic machine won't reset it to normal state
having fun myself, as after buying a d3 it had been in a side swipe, causing the bags to go off,
when i checked the whole right hand side airbags were missing , got other ones ready for me to fit
the iid will reset the srs ecu to normal state, it until i fit the side airbags i won't know if it will put the srs light out
i might have to also send my ecm away to be cleared , it's the history but they can't access
the airbags u replaced were they second hand or new, could they be faulty
i think to send the srs ecm away costs around £40 quid
i don't know enough yet with regards to that, if it has to be reset be a specialist company
will be interesting to see what the final solution is
