Drivers side belt not retracting fully, quick + cheap fix |
|
I have been meaning to do this for ages as its really annoying having to wait for the thing to retract before getting out.
10 min job start to finish.
Tools needed
1 medium flat screwdriver
1 hoover
1 tin of silicone spray
Power seat all the way forwards and working form the rear door, pop of the lower trim using the screwdriver levering behind the rubber door seal so if you do mark the plastic it wont be seen, get busy with the hoover, then pop off the bottom of the upper trim and again hoover out, I couldnt see what held the top in but didnt need to remove it anyway.
Then once all clean pull the belt fully out and lightly spray with the aerosol as you let the belt back in, I did this twice on each side of the belt.
Dont get me wrong its not perfect but its 100 percent better.
Little tricky refitting the rubber lip over the trim panels but just use the flat screwdriver and ease it over a little bit at a time.

Or just pull the belt out and spray both sides of it with hairspray an even easier fix.
