I did mine the other day and it made a much greater difference than I expected it to.
My injector blankets are missing and I was thinking of replacing them at great expense (for what they are)...don’t think I need bother now.

How about sound deadening elsewhere?
So I am looking at other area since my under hood (bonnet) arrangement is well in tact. I see these sound deadening panels around that you stick on the floor pans and even firewalls that are supposed to help with audio or road deadening sounds. Has anyone tried these type panels.
Come in different thickness.
Was thinking I'd pull back the carpeting and place these especially in the front cab and rear of the rover.
These look to be the cheapest.2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic

I've just bought some more GlasMat product for the transfer box undertray. As an experiment I've bought 50cm x 2m x 1cm from China on Aliexpress for £10.50 delivered.

What thickness?
Hello All,
Can anyone advise what thickness they have used, the 10/11mm seems to be out of stock, they have 30mm but I'm not sure if that will be too thick.
They do have another style which is rated to 180 degrees C, I think that would probably be suitable if 10/11mm is required.
Thanks
Tony

I see our german friends on youtube used expanding foam.
Put a layer of polithene down on the engine, sprayed expanding foam on.
Pushed the engine cover on. Let it set. Then trimmed the edges.
Protect the oil filler if you do this!

Pete, I usually like his videos... but that was a bit too far for me.
I used high temperature 15mm self-adhesive foam I got from amazon. Waaayyy cheaper, easier and safer than that PU foam.
But I take my hat for the creativity.

Ordered and done
Thanks for the links and information.
I ordered 11mm but it came more like 6mm so I’ve layered it up around the ridges so it sticks nicely.
