i'd suggest that you're completely within your rights to go for LR Approved Used if yours was ... "like for like" after all.
to be "approved used" it also has to pas a number of criteria ... do you get a report when you buy? show that if you did. .

Typically an insurer will pay the lower end where no warranty exists. Where you had balance of warranty they'll offer somewhere closer to retail, but they are within their rights to adjust down to prevent betterment eg. 12 months warranty where you had 3 remaining.
The newer the car and more recent the purchase, the stronger the case for an offer closer to retail.
