Rear pad wear sensor connector |
|
Ok, so did the pads on the rear at the weekend, and bought a sensor from TLO with the pads just in case. Sensor seemed ok but came out with some broken plastic so I decided to change it.
The new sensor SOE000025 was identical, as was cable with all its rubber grommets that fit onto the suspension arm as you route the cable. Fitted it all up, would not plug in. Now some of these connectors have "wobbly" pins and you have to align them straight or, jer-jer-jer-jiggle it a bit to make them connect so I faffed for a bit.
After faffing came scientific investigation and the sensor plug is DIFFERENT to the old sensor, and so does nto mate with the car end. The new sensor had a notch in line with the pins, where the old had a cut-out hence there is no mechanical connection.
Have emailed TLO but anyone else had this issue or aware of different generations of the sensor connector?

Have they changed them on the D4? I thought they continued to be the same (certainly at the car end).
