TLO isn't going to run out of them. What you may have missed is the group buy price. Check with him. You're unlikely to find a better price even if he isn't doing the group buy price anymore.

Just wanted to post a big 'thank you' to those of you that added instructions to this thread.
I finally plucked up courage to change mine this afternoon and apart from taking ages to release the air bag all went well. Was prepared for a fight with the 'nut' but it came off so easily I though the socket was too big!
And you are right, it really does make a big difference.
Thanks

I managed to get Land Rover to replace my coarse leather steering wheel with one of the new smooth leather ones for gratis (or good-will as they call it) by complaining (out of warranty) that the coasr leather wheel had started to break up on the top right and that it should reasonably be expected to last beyond 3 years on a car of this price. Dealer looked after it and I got a new wheel (had to pay for fitting).
Might be worth a go.

Hi Andy - I had it done with some other work and they said it had added half an hour to the total labour charge ... so I'm guessing around £50 as part of another job. Sounds insane price to fit a wheel but I was more than happy as I got the wheel for free. I thought about taking the wheel away and doing it myself but it's a bit of a fiddle so just stumped up. Glad I paid in the end as I had to take it back for refitting as it had a faint click when turning .... if I had done it myself I would've lived with it .... as I paid I got them to sort it.

Hi there.
Seems to me that everybody is upgrading leather steering wheels that have begun to degrade over time, could I do the same thing with a vinyl wheel on a base model?
Also all the ones I see on fleabay are circa £155, looks like I have missed the boat on the bulk-buy £90 specials!

Hi Lads,
Got the wheel....looks great .....fitted with no hassle (great instructions )
But and thus is a big But ......the wheel is thinner and far less chuncky than the origional ?
Has nobody noticed this ???? it doesent suit the car at all.....im sorry i changed!
the wheel on my wifes minny is thicker and had a larger chuncky feel than this soft leather one .
Desaster,.......I can tunerstand that im the only one who has picked up on this?

Hi dwhelan,
Did you fit it yourself in the end?
Cant say I notice any difference in thickness at all, but I do find it's may be a little bit too smooth... the other half reckons it now doesn't match the look of the airbag but I think it looks just fine.
Very pleased, and at least it was cheaper than the four new tyres I bought today at £800.
