Hi Macleod...
Quick question, with the headrest kit install, did it come with a lead so that the 2x screens can view the same source at the same time !! If not, do you know what extra leads you would need to be able to do this.

The kit comes with 3 extra leads that bridge the AV connectors, so yes you can use a device to play on both screens.

Thank you for the excellent tutorial, fitted mine here in the colonies today. The only suggestion I'd make to anyone else is to tape a zip tie to the end of the lead from the headrest and use it to feed the cable around the internal bar in the top of the seat back. Makes it a lot easier to reach up and grab.
Regards,

Thx mac for the write up!
I used bits of it,but changed my install slightly, i have put the av connector, power and aux input underneath the centre console as i didn't want to see any cables, which you will when you plug the leads into the back of the centre console.
Nothing wrong with that, just not for me!
Thx again

Hi MacLeod
a really great installation guide.
I had luck to get a Freelander kit at the bay site and rightnow I am fittting it with your help.
As dsd1036 I also decided to change the position of the AV connection box to a hidden position inside the cubby box. As soon as I am ready I will post some pics.
Thanks
Cheers

This guide is great, thanks for your efforts!
Couple of questions though..
I don't have the aux out panel on my car - are these panels available seperately? And if I don't have the panel, will I still have the power supply to tap into?
And - would I be able to just plug in an external dvd/media player and not hook up to the car headunit? I assume if I did this then the sound would only play via the headphones?
Thanks!

Mac,
This may be a stupid question but does the USB connection provide power as well as signal to the cyclone media player or will you still need to power it separately?
Great post by the way!

badgerade, the panel you have will do. With an AUX socket you have the option like me to plug in my Iphone and listen to the movie they are watching behind me through the speakers. Without the AUX you'll have to put up with the Headphones. Any external players with AV connectors will plug into the connections and play via the screens.
radders89, needs to be powered seperately.

Thanks for the reply!
One more question - are the grab handles still fairly sturdy with the top peg removed?
