Well the last two days MCC have been busy fully stripping down the car as you can see below:

Don't like seeing it like this! lol But needs must for a proper job.

They've also started full flattening the plastics ready to be sprayed so that they can be correctly vinyled:

Today they start actually wrapping the car and by this evening they should have both sides and bonnet complete. Can;t wait to see the finished product.

By the way if anyone else is interested as I have had a few PM's please add MidlandCarCare on facebook and take a look at the work they do. They specialise in car detailing and vehicle wrapping. Just so you guys can see the standard they work to here is a 50/50 on a C63 AMG that was in the unit when I dropped the Disco off

Better than brand new! There's 100's of photo's of their work on the FB page, well worth a look even if to just have a drool over the vehicles they have pass through their doors.

They are based in Walsall if anyone needs any work doing, well worth a visit.

Hopefully some more images to update on latter once the wrapping begins.

Thanks for looking
Dan

Getting excited now!

Textured plastic all ready to wrap after sanding the grain out, plastic priming, then high build primer, then sanded again to a perfectly flat finish. Next they are panel wiped to ensure they're as clean as possible, then prep'd with Hexis'O before finally installing the vinyl and reattaching to the car.

and the car begins to take shape...

Being a fan Dave I'm half tempted to agree! Not sure the other half would agree though...

They're going to start piecing the bumpers and arches together this weekend, fit the LED light upgrades to the side lights, puddle lights, numberplate and interior. Then it's protection and delivery back to me next week. Looks so different!

Well I decided that this morning at 9am I'd get the headlights detangoed ready to be installed Monday.

After nearly an hour of messing around, lots of swearing and hurt fingers the wife decided to grab another hairdryer and help out. Thank god she did as I wasn't getting anywhere.

With the two of us on it we had the first one finished in about 40mins

Then an hour later all ready to fit

Now off to MCC to deliver and also fit all my LED bulbs that turned up from HIDS4U yesterday. Numberplate, side lights, puddle lights, boot and interior flood lights.

Going to be like Christmas!

You did well getting those lights done with hairdryers, I opted for the oven method myself after trying with hairdryer. Don't forget you'll need to change indicator bulbs, I would recommend the led ones but you will need to wire in resistoŕs with them so you don't get the double speed flash on your dash Looking forward to seeing the end result.Thumbs Up

Well theres no way Id have managed it without the wife and a second hairdryer. Would have been there for hours gwtting nowhere! LED and resistors should be here Monday, plenty of tme to fit before its back on the road.

Just been down there now and fitted the LED puddle lamps, side lights, numberplate lights and interior and boot lights. So much better now. Cant wait to see them at night.

This is how the car looks now

They've just got to finish trimming a few bits and pieces and then its onto all the fiddly bits like the bumpers and arches. Getting closer now!

Good effort on the headlights, no way will I attempt that but I guess that I am a bit more of a standard type of blurk. The D3 looks ace!

Thanks Dave. Cant wait to have it finished! It's a bit of a fiddle but well worth the effort. Give it a go I bet you'd surprise yourself!

Thanks Disco, not sire what they'd charge nornally. Believe its around 14-1500 upwards. Ive given Russ at MCC a lot of business in the past so he's done me an incredable price on this one under 1k. That includes all door shuts wrapped, plastics sorted etc. Great guy! But in all seriousness his work is fantastic. From car details to wheel referbs to wraps.

Such a big difference really lights up the floor when you open the door.

Next up was the interior lights:
Before

And the flood light after! You dont really get the full effect due to the unit where the picture being taken having high powered lighting but needless to say it's like wembley when you press open on the key fob!

All the parts came back from the body shop this morning so I got a few pictures sent over
Arches etc

And the new front end with detangoed lights, facelift grill and black Landrover letters

Literally cannot wait to pick it up tomorrow with everything finished! Such a massive transformation from when I droppedit off.
