Did mine at the weekend and fixed the crack in the dryer cap with araldite on both sides. Microwaved and sieved the contents of the dryer and blow out the filters. Only issue I had was a bolt that sheered of in the lower compressor mounting frame that needed drilling out and refitting of one off the pipes. After 40 mins of struggling with the pipe I got a pencil sharpener and put a slight chamfer on ths plastic and it slid straight in.
All refitted, fired up ok and worked as it should and no warning lights on the test run. I can still hear a very slight leak which is coming from the O ring seal where the dryer fits onto the compressor. This was replaced but there was lots of corrosion around the joint which I cleaned up the best I could. If it doesnt compleatly seal itself through use, heating and moulding to contours, and ideas what is best to seal it up with?

If it's not too bad then try PTFE tape or liquid PTFE. You can get both at Screwfix or similar.Tony

Did 40 miles today and no lights on the dash. Will check if the O ring has sealed itself at the weekend and if not will try the liquid PTFE.|____000_

+1 for the air dryer, had the same thing on mine(normal ride height only)
Replaced the dryer unit and o rings in the compressor a few weeks ago, not
sure how long it will last but no bing bongs up to now, fingers crossed will be a
Permenant fix( until next time )certainly a lot cheaper than a new compressor.

Could be an air leak, at the dryer, or the air tank

richardch, what is the problem with yours? Leaking from the drier lid?
If you're taking the compressor off the vehicle (yes, easy enough on the ground with the suspension in off road height) you might as well change (or dry) the silica beads - I did mine last week with some fresh dessicant beads (the orange indicating type) for £6 off eBay. You'll have the lid off to cure the split anyway (if that's your problem) and the foam filters come out easily enough. I also checked the seal on the piston and it was as good as new, after 4 years and 92000 miles.Previously:

tx. so in a nutshell the best way to deal with the bubbles from the dryer is replace the dryer cap but as it costs about as much as a new dryer, one might as well simply get a new dryer as in 90% of cases that is all that needs to be done right ?

i.e its the dryer and not the compressor but stealerships just replace the whole unit
I've not had a problem with the dryer lid myself, but some people seem to have fixed it by taking the lid off and putting some Araldyte between the red & blue ports on the back if the lid. That way you don't have to disturb the dryer - compressor seal which can potentially create another leak.Previously:
