Fuel Filler Flap Latch/Lock
Hi Everybody, I'v been away a while after selling my Base Model a year ago I have now bought an se on 05 plate with 123000 miles and a glowing History to my Liking very much Noticed a wee problem when i went to fill up i had not noticed that the filler cover/flap was closed and held with double sided tape, Has anyone got a fix or replacement instruction for the Locking Mechanism as i dont want light fingered visitors to my fuel tank,
Hope someone can help. Cheers.

If when you push the flap to close it and it wont stay closed it is probably the clips on the filler flap as in this picture
There is a solenoid and cable that actually locks it when the central locking is activated, these cables can get a bit stiff.Cheers Ian

The small parts in the diagram are available as a repair kit and the part number is DA1114 (I think) A call to either Yeovil Land Rover or Duckworths (both forum sponsors) would confirm Cheers Ian

Yes, I've replace one that ended up locked.
The part was only about £25 from memory and it included the rubber bit that goes over the pipe, the locking mechanism and the hinge.
Best way I found to replace it was slide off the colour coded flap door, cut the rubber round the pipe and manoeuvre off, taking off the electrical connections. Replacement was a whiz, took seconds.
