I'm installing some Xtrons 705 headrest DVD players. It seems the place to pick up power is from the aux power socket behind the cubby box.
1/ Do I have to dismantle the whole centre console from front to back to get to this? Any pointers / help appreciated to make my life easier.
2/ The cables come down the back of the seat and currently exit at the lowermost edge at the rear of the seat. If I remove the seat base would I be able to route this more discreetly into the centre console? I'd like to keep things as hidden away as possible.
TIA for any pointers. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

I have the same headrests installed... your best bet is to do a forum search for this kind off thing there is a great write up on here that explains how to route cables and take dash apart. It was a massive help for me .
You can access the aux by popping it out but I think it would be a nightmare to get your cables there without taking the lot out . blessed are the losers ,for they determine the winners

Thanks. Rest assured I've done lots of searches and have found a lot of useful info to help but *not* how best to route the cable to the rear centre console power. None of my searches turn up anything useful on that front... 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

It crude but it works very well, big long pinch, drivers side rear door, lift the plastic door threshold cover exposing the cable run, slide over it and with the centre console out, lift the carpet up.
I then used a piece of plastic air pipe, and pushed and guided to the carpet opening.
You only need to take the passenger seat cable feed and the front screen wiring this way, driver seat comes out in the middle carpet access under its seat.
The cables run this way you will see when you have the carpet up and are in with the torch FFRR SC 4.2

It's only power I'm trying to tap into. Why do I need to be accessing the cable run by the driver's door? Can I not come directly out from either seat and into the centre console? Sorry if I'm missing the obvious.
I presume I could get power either from the aux power socket at the rear of the centre console or the seat electrics. Would the latter be simpler? 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Put the front seats forward ... You will see couple of little vents in the bottom of the centre consul
Pop them off to reveal a torx screw . If you remove those you can lift the whole consul upwards ( at the back ) .. This gives you enough room to hide your wiring / reach the back of the 12v power socket G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks wiggs - that was really helpful.
Still, try as I might I couldn't get a wire to route from behind the 12V socket down to the vent (or vice-versa) so I ended up lifting the front of the console, the cubby and the rear panel, With much jiggling and wiggling I was able to route something under the cubby and back up and down again to come out one of the little vents.
Just realised I was meant to connect the video / audio of the two screens together before I put it all back together
How does the seat back go back together? I *thought* I'd looked very carefully before taking it apart but try as I might I can't get the two pieces back together again... 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

For anyone else who attempts this - in the end I had to take things apart again as in my haste I'd forgotten to connect the two players together so they can share the content.
I then found I just could not get the cables to sit comfortably under the void in the rear console - it's quite a big bunch and I just couldn't get things to sit flush. So I removed the front console and raised the rear (as suggested by wiggs) and pulled all the cables through to the void to the left and in front of the gear lever. This gave me plenty of space and allowed the console to sit back down flush.
I still haven't got the seat backs on properly though 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

The bottom part of the seat is held together with interlocking plastic strips, the back rest part has to go under the other strip to locate in to the base seat strip(the one your bum sits on)basically use the back rest strip, pull down and towards the front of the car, under the other strip, and up and back towards you to lock the two together.
You will also find it useful to tilt the seat back down to give a little bit of extra length on the leather and start at one end. 2015 D4 HSE LUX Kaikoura Stone(sold)
