progress

No photos but I did the trans fluid today, silicon intercooler hose (after the second LR one split), new heavy duty lower front control arms cuz the bushes were shagged, replaced the rear door hatch locking mechanism with the upgraded discovery 4 one and got another wheel alignment and reset the steering angle which fixed my HDC fault.

Also got a Nanocom Evolution to help out with diagnosing any further issues!

Turns out my EGRs are throwing a fault, but no warning light, so I'll be getting them blanked and the software over ridden next week. Softwares expensive tho!!! $600 Wow! 2007 Disco 3 2.7 TDV6

How are you liking the front runner with the new mount style? How is the wind noise? Were they much of a pain to get mounted? (I am debating ordering some to swap with my current rack mounts. 08 LR3 HSE

Frontrunner

Hey mate,
Front runner rack itself is solid as a rock. less flex than steel racks i've had one other vehicles, and being all bolted, less likely to fatigue as well.

To be honest mate, i don't think the rack mounts make any difference to the wind noise tho, the noise is due to the big square edges rack. I'm thinking of making up a custom wind deflector.
Wind noise is average but I can deal with it.

The hardest part mounting is the front doing up the bolts between the fins. but the new mounts do look much better.
Apparently rhino are doing a slimline rack now too - might have been better wind noise wise.

Since my last post I've taken the old girl on a 9000km round trip from Melbourne to Darwin towing a camper trailer. Was a bit floaty while towing which was annoying, but handled the corrugations no worries. Only issue was trying to run 32x50L fridges and a 90L fridge freezer through a traxide SC40 and optima yellow top. Kept flicking the circuit breaker as was drawing too much current for the little wire.

I'd had a small hum at 60-70kph and a bit of a knock in the front end, turns out one of the lower control arms bolts had come loose. ease fix.

yea - ive thought about a custom wind fairing too. just havent had the time to get one mock up and made 08 LR3 HSE
