The GM Yukon has a similar IFS front diff layout.
GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics
Its official, this week with a friend of mine we will tackle the rear diff. So far I have failed in finding any specification on the internals of a diff for LR3, nor where I could get the parts, such as shims. I have called my local dealer, and like always they have been super helpful and tolled me to simply get a new unit.
Anyway like I have mentioned in my previous post, I have already acquired the rebuilt kit on ebay which consist of new seals and bearings. I will try to measure and document everything before, during and after. I know it will be a learning experience despite the results.
Thank you guys for all your feedback, and wish me luck

Here is the bit from the Haynes manual! Its a 5 spanner job, which means they couldn't get any technical data from Land Rover to be able to give any useful info.

First the best quality bearings should be purchased for this job. And I would have someone with experience tackle it.

You can fit a D4 diff to a D3 if the ratio's are the same.
