My wishlist for the D3:
- bigger fuel tank (120litres plus)
- reduce weight to 2.3 or 2.4 tonnes
- how about a proper tow hitch
- height adjustable instrument cluster so I can see all the gauges
- 3.0 litre TDV6, a liitle more power never goes astray
- off road height speed limit increased to 80 to 90km/hr
- better waterproofing and more rugged suspension, transmission electronics
- audio: sub-woofer should be standard on all audio models
- OEM all terrain tyres not the current road bias ones
- oh, and a cheaper price??!!
That's all I can think of for the time being'06 Disco 3 TDV6 SE Buckingham Blue

Sensible wish: An integrated solar-powered ventilation system for when pets are in the car, similar to the cheapo ones from Ebay that fit in the windows but more efficient;
Silly wish: a bumper mounted Taser for use on ramblers and GP supporters.

Let myself freewheel a bit on this subject Don't mistake it for a hidden dig at the current car; I'd not swap mine for the world.
1. Sliding doors front and back to allow us salad dodgers, and those carrying child seats to get out of the car in narrow car-park spaces.
2. Rear view camera with rear view mirror replaced with LCD monitor. LR, rear visibility is not a luxury, it's a safety necessity.
3. Fold flat front passenger seat to allow full length rolls of carpet/worktops/giraffe to be carried inside.
4. Lock/unlock buttons with the second row passengers roof controls for parents confined to the back seats by young kids.
5. Dual batteries as standard, with internal 12v sockets permanently connected to the aux.
6. Bigger air reservoir(s) for
a) Tyre inflation hose/air wrench
b) Keeping car level and at the set height during auto-leveling, rather than always dropping.
c) Air Jack as standard
7. Waiver certificate system allowing user to waive Safety Stazi interlocks (raise/lower remote, max off road height speed etc) at the dealers.
8. Snorkle as standard - perhaps with low profile/hidden intake right across width of roof but hoses embedded/hidden in A-Frame or other pillars.
9. Engine electronics and all connectors waterproofed, with diff vents raised to roof level.
10. On Auto box, when stationary, allow move from Neutral to Drive without pressing footbrake, if park brake is engaged instead.
11. Allow manual super extended mode for washing underneath.
12. Before'n'After KleenTect protection or similar offered on all cars during production and before they first go outside.
13. Bulb blown sensor and Bulb blown sensor. I know technically this is only one thing, but it was such a biggie I thought I'd mention it twice.
14. Torque response dial next to terrain response dial - select between Towing, Extreme MPG, G-Force related organ collapse and a spare slot for bespoke upgrades from certain site sponsors Auto box adapts to suit, including down-shifting for engine braking during towing and to maintain set cruise control speed when heading down hills.
15. Bio-diesel compatability.
16. I've run out of beer so I'll leave it there...Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?
so far...
1) a proper clock....(digital/ anolougue choice - wont go any further on this as might provoke violent criticism)
2) proper underseal underbody protection system - at this cost it ought to be standard
3) centre armrest - centre rear seat head rest that like the old Disco 2 one (no brainer Land Rover)
4) wipers that dont squeak - with follow up wipe after washing cycle
5) a proper jack - minimal safety requirement
6) proper mileage/trip/mpg computer as fitted on much cheaper cars
7) decent side steps accessory that are built for the car - like RRS not the tacked on numpty ones sold now
.....to be continuedBREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

A proper trip computer.
Gives MPG , distance + engine running time for the journey as well as overall (same as Mercedes system)
Was much more convenient when noting milage for business use which I could do at any point in the journey rather than having to remember & then use autorout to claim the mileage......

As some of you already mentioned:
"Headlights on" indicator on instrument panel
Rear camera
Some kind of eco / power switch
Automatic closing of windows upon car locking (or at least let the remote command do it)
3-level overspeed warning
Head up display (well, let's dream a bit)
Integrated, profiled schnorkel
Underbody protection as standard
plus:
Optional LR hidden winch
Source volume memory on CD/radio/Aux
Integrated tyre-inflating system (Hummer-like)
More audi-like dashboard materials (less plastic-like)
Cruise control associated with front radar (as in RRS)
Instant conso display
GSP: time to reach destination AND time of arrival on a same display (see TomTom)
GPS: possibility of uploading your own POI
Bluetooth/Wifi/USB integration for GPS/aux/entertainment system
2 LCD screens in front headrests

Front passanger seat that folds fully forward. I've got 2 oak Ikea work surfaces in my car, 2.46m long, resting on stuff in the back, the front headrest (pass seat fully reclined), the seat swab (via a bean bag) and the dashboard above the air vent! Never thought I'd be carrying a full kitchen in the D3 but fits in nicely!
