DESCRIPTION
As winter approaches, now is surely the time to consider a 4WD car - and it really needs to be a fun to drive version for the reader on here. This Forester is maybe the sleeper car you are looking for. Practical, spacious, yet goes like a scalded cat when pressing on, it offers a great mix of family versatility, motorway cruising, and back road blasting in all weathers and all road conditions.
This Forester is a full UK spec 2.5l petrol turbo dark blue version, with decent tyres all round (a couple nearly new, the other two in fine fettle), and a full service history. It was first owned by an ex-Police driving instructor, who used to use it to go to Spain and back, did oil and filter changes every 3000 miles regardless, and generally spared no expense. We bought it off them instead of it going to a dealer, and have used it on and off for the past three or four years. The only issue it has had in that time has been that the power steering started to feel strange, easily remedied with a new belt. It's got a current MOT as is in use as a daily driver. Current mileage is 74,000.
In current use as daily driver. All electrics, heated seats, etc work as expected. Car has a towbar, used only for carrying bike racks.
Issues: a recent reversal into a gatepost has left the rear bumper with a small crack in the plastic cover. The bumper underneath is structurally sound, and a replacement will be about £100 from a breakers, but I've not found a blue one in the last week or so.
The paintwork is in decent condition, with minor age-related marks. The car goes exceptionally well, and each time I drive it I reconsider selling, but we now have more cars than children, and selling a car is better than getting more kids.
Dealer-style feature list (without their SHOUTY CAPITALS):
2 Owners, Full service history, Next MOT due on 30/11/2016, Electric windows, Air conditioning, CD player, Heated seats, Height adjustable driver's seat, Folding rear seats, Child seat points (Isofix system), Alloy wheels, Power steering, Steering wheel reach adjustment, Cruise control, Roof rails, Central locking, Alarm, Immobiliser, Driver's airbags, Side airbags, Passenger airbags. No agencies, or dealers with low offers.
<Snip> will reduce price slightly for people on here.....

I had one of these a few years ago. Cracking car and quick too! Incredibly capable off road for a car with limited ground clearance. GLWS

brief bump. Some interest from here, but nothing definite yet. Advertised on defender2.net too, and will go on Autotrader after weekend, so if you're interested please let me know sooner rather than later. It'll make someone a very good, reliable, fun car.
Need to sell to fund this:

wbac will indeed buy it, and I had good dealings with them on a Ford S-Max. But their value is a bit low (even compared to Glass's guide) mostly because it's not a bog standard saloon/hatchback/mpv, which they find easier to move on and hence make better turnover/margin on.
It's priced at about the mid-point of those on PH and AutoTrader, but is probably in the top ⅓ of spec and condition, so it will go, especially given the weather coming..... so would rather wait and it go to a good home than pass it to them.
