Cracked intake manifold on the 3.0l diesel.
Hi,
Trying to get some help here with my Jaguar XF.
I have the same 3.0 V6 diesel engine as in Discovery and also in Citroen
There is a 2 inch crack in my intake manifold/Rocker cover and I can only find used ones for the 2,7 engine.
Does anyone know where to find one for the 3.0 litres engine?
Or is it the same part for 2,7 and 3,0?
Can it be fixed with glue etc.
If anyone have any idea or know a good place for used carparts in UK please let me know.
Best Regards,
Jimmy

You could try forum sponsor Metalmonsterjunk? They break a lot of Discos!
I don't know if 2.7 - 3.0 are compatible? But I do know it's a known problem with the 3.0 engine.
I also believe it's expensive to repair.

2.7 will not fit
I wouldn't use a 2nd hand part either, due to it being such a common issue
New manifolds have been reinforced, and shouldn't* fail again

Not a five minute job to replace either. If they are like the 2.7, then the injectors and fuel rail need to be removed.

Cracks are due to a manufacturing defect.
"Cause: Material thickness and fillet radius of the valve cover not to specification"
New strengthened part numbers I beleive.

Landrover paid for mine in full on my 2010 model.
I showed the dealer a copy of the TSB when I took the car in for repair. I drove the car away & was never asked to pay.
I know of other forum members that had Landrover pay for theirs in full too.
Vehicle owners should not be paying for this repair to be done.Mitsubishi Outlander Phev 4H 2018.

Do you still have the TSB number? Might be worth having a print off and bunging it in with the manual.

The car has had one restricted performance red triangle a couple of year ago (no faults my IID could find) and nothing since so fingers crossed as not something WD list.

Think you'll find its under Airbags and Emissions with WD, which like betterment is a £s add on or negotiation. D4 GS 12MY
