I used to always agree, i remember working in 'Blackboy Hill' in Bristol. The city made rich on slavery, but now i'm torn. Bristol is going through similar thoughts, the Colston hall (A rich trader on the back of slavery) will be renamed next year. At first i was appalled, but now I'm not sure
Most of us on here are white and privileged, i do not know what it's like to be regularly stopped while driving, just because of the colour of my skin. I remember a friend, worked with him, same job, same level but he was better than me at it, if I'm honest, but i was promoted before him, but he was black
It's a really tough one! But i do belive that society is inherently racist, we all do it. I remember once answering the door and thought to myself " There's a black man at my door?"and then felt horrified by my thoughts, he was simply a man.
A black colleague told me once it wasn't enough to just 'Not be a racist' but we all had to be 'Anti racist'. So perhaps it's time we all changed and did this.
I'll stop rambling now Iggy/Ieuan

On the Manhood Penninsula, all the places, businesses, schools and colleges with 'Manhood' in their names had better brace themselves for (ahem) 'transition'.
If I may, for a moment, use this thread to air an issue causing me much distress, I should like it known that I am offended and upset by the road named "Norman Avenue". I am sure I speak for many when I say that to even glimpse the sign causes a reflexive and visceral agony that I can hardly bear, conjuring as it does the ignominious hegemony imposed on the Anglo-Saxon peoples without their informed consent - nay, not even an opportunity for an e-petition, referendum or a shallow and ill-informed discussion on the Jeremy Vine Show. Norman Avenue merely reinforces on a daily basis the oppression of the Anglo-Saxons by the colonialist patriarchy from France and pours salt into the open wound of cultural appropriation - a wound that itself bares the scars of the expropriation of assets by the Normans. Has history forgotten how we Anglo-Saxons were treated as mere serfs or how the Normans imposed their style of architecture on a country very content with round arches? To the people who can walk by without tears in their eyes: "How dare you! Your indifference to eleventh century politics has stolen my childhood!" To those of you who signed the petition to have the Norman Avenue renamed: join me at 8pm each Wednesday (or 9pm if the start of Corrie has been delayed by a football match) by standing on one leg outside your home and putting your hands in the air like you just don't care for one minute (it's not mandatory but if you don't participate in we will know you are facist scum). The idiot at Ford who decided that reversing the wiring for the bumper mounted reverse and rear fog lights was a good idea. They are only both standard 21w bulbs but I have fitted the euro spec rear lamp units so they match and the only way to get a decent red and bright reverse light bulb is to cut and swap the wires round. What a pain. 2006 TdV6 HSE.

its not just Ford, LR did it with the D3 and D4 alarm sensor unit (you know, the dome in the middle of the headlining). They used the same plug but swapped the 12v and ground over.

Drivers that swing in the opposite direction to that which they intend to turn, for example swinging out towards the centre of the road (or even over it) just before turning left.
Had some twonk do this to me today. Three lanes - left turning left, centre going straight on, right turning right. Twonk in the right hand lane swings out to his left before turning. And who was immediately to his left in the centre lane and who flinched waiting for the impact that, thankfully, never came? Little old me in my RRS. Didn't even have to time to sound the horn. If the sides of the RRS were any dirtier, he'd have taken a layer of grime with him, he was that close.
I know why they do it and it's pure laziness. Fingers should be broken and sugar poured in to fuel tanks of those that do it. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
