Rear ARB knock, knock....
Well, it’s been a few weeks now since I sold my D3, so I’m just working through a list of items on the D4 to bring it up scratch.
One things is a knocking that I have at the rear, the car has covered 55k of “friendly” mileage as prev. owner used to just use it for skiing trip and long drives generally.
The knock is most prominent on our lumpy track from the house, when the vehicle rolls side to side at low speeds, certainly sounds like the ARBs at the rear. I seem to remember on my D3 there was a “mod”, roughly speaking it was three overpriced squares of rubber I purchased from the stealers, they sat under the ARB and prevented the knocking.
I have searched but cant find reference to this issue on the D4 so wondered if anyone had other suggestions before I get under the thing.
Cheers.

The rubber will be the anti roll bar bushes then..?
Two front and two rear usually. Two bolts for each rubber. (Maybe One on the D4?)
Fiddly rather than difficult. Copper slip the bolts on refit as always.

LR018346 front
Just read in full, on the discovery 3 there was an additional flat piece (not the arb) which was designed specifically to prevent the knocking, ie not as a result of ARB failure

Spoke to dealer. Flappy flat rubber bits don’t apply on the 4. So I’ll investigate before order replacements.
55k on a three year old seems a tad premature.

Quick update. Popped to local garage, rear drop links were goosed. So the ride is reassuringly firmer now, but same knock so its back to plan A. Prob why it was plan A in the first place ! Arbs.

It killing me now. Arbs swapped. Very little wear.
Still got the knock. It knocks only when the car rock in a pendulum motion side to side. Anything else I could has missed please. Is there a ballast weight or similar in the rear end it could maybe be?
Thanks

So. The knock.
After all that, including new drop links (were goosed anyway) and arbs. I finally found th source of the knocking today. Middle seat, second row. Fine when folded flat lol. Just goes to show how noises transmit.
Solved by backing off the mounting bolts on the rear of the seat base to chassis, then slightly pulling the base toward me when tightening it up.
