Lower console cool box retrofit ?
I've found a HSE (June 05) that I would like to buy. However, I would have liked to have the cool box (not for beers but for my boys milk!). Does anybody knows if it can be retrofitted? Any other solutions??? Thanks
Fairly sure it can't be retrofitted, just buy yourself a 12v coolbox from any camping shopThe End

Thanks Slimer. I will make them an offer for the car and see what happens. The coolbox would have been handy on long journeys though...but hey... you can't have everything! As I am not yet prepared to pay 39K for an MY06, I will have to accept an 05.
I wanted the same- cool box for baby milk (and perhaps the odd can of coke).
I got a pretty small portable electric coolbox for about £20 from local camping shop. It's not as pretty or neat as the integrated one from LR but probably 1/10 of the price...Discovery 3 tdv6 7 seat Buckingham Blue
Had it since new - sold Jun 17 after 12 years and 214,000 miles

Yeah, I know you can get one for £20-£30, but when you spend in excess of 35k you want most of the accesories. It is quit amazing not to have this cool boxes as standard, as this is a great family car and it should fit perfect.

That's strange!!! I was told by the dealer selling the car that they can retrofit the cool box. It will take them some time (they will get the whole console out) but if I pay the asking price(about £37k), can be done. Could that be true, or is just a trick to get the sale? Any thoughts?

You will find a number of the accessories are stated by dealers as non-retro fit, purely because of the time factor. They don't want to spend the time fitting something to a vehicle if the can pursuade the buyer to either choose another vehicle or order a factory fit option. It only really goes out of the window when they have a pre-reg vehicle they want to sell on, or an ex demonstrator - then they will make the time. Coffeecup

Thanks Cofeecup! I can't wait to get to my local LR dealer and ask them to get the car for me. I hope that they will accept my cash offer and throw in , as a sign of goodwill, the cool box. Am I to stingy in offering £35K for an TDV6 auto hse with 3000 miles registered in june 05?

If I could have got a deal like that I wouldn't have bought new - a month ago you would have paid that for Dec/ Jan with 10k miles plus I reckon
Hi - I presume you used Guy Salmon - did they fit it for free or did you pay? I would be interested in the price as I want to retro fit one into my RRS. (To keep my drugs cool!)

The cool box obviously has a Land Rover part number... there are two versions, one for vehicles with PTI and one without if I remember correctly. But it's not intended to be a kit install. You are free to order it from your service department, but you'll need to either convince them to do the labor or do it yourself.
