| Price for Front and Rear pads |
|
In for a service today and stealer has found a track rod end gone which will be done on warrenty. Also front and rear pads are 90% worn and the cost to replace is £400 + VAT
Is that expensive - Would you go to a LR dealer for this? Any advice welcomed as usual.
Thanks guys

So if the stealer is quoting £400 to replace pads all round - what is common With or Without sensors... what are the sensors and would you need to replace them if the pads were getting low??
Thanks

They are looking into it! So the breakdown is:
£215 + VAT for Front
£160 + VAT for Rear
Includes sensors and aproximate fitting time 2.5 hours.
She is coming bcak to me. Nick what would you guys charge inc sensors?
Maybe I should just order the parts and walk into a normal garage - the stealer is filling me with Fear Uncertainty and doubt - ohhh you have to update the computer system ohhh yep mate... 56 Tonga Green HSE.

The sensors usually break where they fit into the pad when removed, as they seem to become brittle.
rear sensor wire £8.81 inc v retail
front sensor up to 2006 £7.56, or post 2006 £13.09inc vat.
regards
Steve

I've just fitted new front pads and discs - took about 2 hours 15 minutes with stops for tea and to make sure everything was cleaned thoroughly as I went (my 13 year old helped with the mucky bits... ).
The parts cost £130 delivered from TLO (top banana ).
£400 sounds like they're extracting the urine big time......
Tell them you only own one Land Rover - not the whole of bl ding Land Rover.... I drink, therefore I am.
