Farting

hi, another numpty question Smile

Is it normal for my wagon to fart, as I switch it on and the air con kicks in - there are loads of farting noises.

I am assuming it is various pumps and compressors - but is it normal for it ot be quite so audible

dont hear any farting on start up with mine, however it does fart when it is stopped and switched off due to the vehicle self leveling.

Perhaps someone else will be along in a bit to shed more light on the matter.
I have something to say! It's better to burn out... than to fade away!

I have a farting noise that seems to come from over near the glovebox area. ISTR that there is a fix for it but can't be bothered to do a search quite honestly. It had something to do with a valve and some plastic linkage or something Question

Completely normal & called the "D3 Fart".
something to do with fluff & dust and grease in the system getting stuck in a valve, I believe.
No smell to my knowledge unless of course you know different.

There is a fix , its some flap to do with the ventilation thats up the back of nowhere and is a nightmare to get to, so the dealer told me but I had mine done under warranty so cost wasn't an issue

An actuator in the air con causes this it was a fault in earlier models. Dash out job I am afraid. Just blame the leather seats. Whistle

A squeak/squeal noise is heard a few seconds after pressing the recirculation button on the control panel, it can also be heard when the recirculation feature operates automatically.

Cause: Due to dust contamination of the lubricating grease, the noise is generated by the movement between the two resin linkages, between the recirculation blend door actuator and motor. Suggested Customer Concern Code - C20.
NOTE: In normal circumstances a modified actuator rod (JEH 500020 and JEH 500010) will need to be installed. Should the need arise to replace the recirculation blend door actuator (JNC 500050 and JNC 500040) then the new actuator rod will already be installed, and must only be fitted if a new recirculation blend door actuator is required
