HELLO TO ALL
I need your help I would like to fit an original nav on rrsport with low line i think is the same of D3, I have display,head unit 6 cd.ice loom,dvd unit,only miss me the amplificator, is real necessary ?
Following your topic,fantastic topic I understand i need a faultmate for ccf .can you explain me better please
I work by an official dealer land rover in italy can i do this myself with IDS PROGRAM?

firstly great work on this - very impressive. secondly, i am looking to install a reverse camera and screen into 2005 SE, which doesnt have any OEM screen or nav system. my question is - if i just want a reverse camera and screen do i still need to cut out the pocket that you had to? i assume that was the only option?

The dash needs cutting if you want to put the OEM screen in, only way it fits in. You could of course put an aftermarket screen in that fits in the cubby hole and not cut the dash  2011 Discovery 4 HSE

At the end after 10 months I'm under my first step to upgrade completely from CD-400 to Har-Kardon Navigation LR. (sorry for my english).
Well I have a couple of pictures of the first process final assembly, I don't have the chance to take pictures during the assembly but anyway I have to open again to fit the screen some of these next days.
More or less the amplifier under the passenger seat(R):

In some of the doubts I had mite sound relay such will give me 12v, this signal comes from output connectors of the new radio to pilot navigation system . I have to test soon.
All it is working perfectly well, the process has been much less aggressive for the D3 that I have seen of BlackBox, Wigs and IanNP or others. All of them changed the whole cable car, going to put new version more equiped, is a question of price and supply, eg original one (harnesses, coaxial and fiber) can cost about 1200 € or more. One used by modules can get away for € 700-800. If you do not get all, or defective, or broken you have to use LR and request materials for electronic parts, which I advise you not do that you are going to be loosing your time. At the end I studied the wiring of a Harman Kardon and compared with my Cd400 to see what was missing and I threw myself making these cables (I have some new D3 wiring loom, so now I put some on sale).
This work of cables manufacture is reduced to about 3 cables and a "network" of fiber to interconnect the modules.
The audio cables are carrying the sound signals from amplifier to the doors, and an extension for a rear subwofer connection (as you can see I have NO auxiliary outputs wired to the rear seats do not seem useful.) The second cable is to connect the screen to the navigation module and the third is a set of power supply and earthing for amplifier and navigation system.
Tomorrow in a moment I try to do an schema, if somebody is interested to do something similar I can report him by PM, also I know this doesn't as expensive as somebody may think.
The price of the modules of Radio, Amplifier, Screen, Browser and TMC can cost around 125-150 € each. And the cables and fiber and I have discussed above.
You can do calmly to do better, I've achived some of the module by changing it, like in the old times, meat by vegetables, textiles by irons, etc ...
To have all the modules I have taken three or four months after knowing for sure I could do my wiring myself, without going through LR.
On the next days more steps, Screen, NAV & TMC.

That will be the same as I had.
You will need the same as I did, which you can see in the post.
It would be best to get the items from a donour vehicle, which can be either a Disco3 or a RRS.
All my bits came from a RRS, I prefer the gps ant being on the roof along with the phone ant. The Disco3 GPS ant is in the high level brake light assemby.
You will need someone with a faultmare or similar to enable all the bits once fitted.
LR own diagnostic won't do it.
Ian ..so what can I fiddle with today that ain't broken ...?

Thanks for all the help Ian! Seriously, I am a member of just about every lr3 forum in the states, this forum is soooo much more in depth, people doing thigs to rovers I didn't know could be done..
Since I've started committing this tread to memory I've been looking for a donor vehicle, I haven't been able to find a salvage yard anywhere in the states where I can go pick a Rover apart, if anyone knows of one in central Texas please let me know.
All this looking got me to thinking, if everything on a RRS is the same as a LR3, can we take the dash, center console and seats from the RRS and fit into the LR3, maybe supercharger also? this would be the mod i could sink my teeth into.
As far as the fault mate goes, I plan on buying on very soon, I want to have complete functionality to do what ever i want, which one do you recommend I buy?

The disco3 and the RRS share the electronics platform as far as the audio system is concerned.
The looms are more or less the same for other things though I have been caught our a few times where connectors are in a slighly diff place!
I don't use a faultmate I have other equipment, best to have a look around here to see which faultmate to buy! ..so what can I fiddle with today that ain't broken ...?

Also I need you help, could you describe deeply the process of changing CCF to allow new systems, 4x4 info and navigation?
What equipment is needed, what to do and so on?

Changing the CCF is quite simple, Wiggs here on D3 has faultmate and update/changed the various settings on my D3.
There are other diagnostic equipment that will allow you change the CCF but Land Rovers' own diagnostic equipment will not. Their diagnostic groups the vehicles in 'Low-line', 'Mid-line', and 'High-Line' allowing you only to fiddle with things that where ment for those vehicles.
It will be worth making enquiries in you area to make sure someone can reconfigure the CCF before you put the bits in your vehicle.
