Not sure Glen
But proberly going to put a lot of it back on with the frame im making . The guy i got the metal from suggested using 1.5mm thick tube ..that would cut down on weight , but i wanted it good and strong in case i ever go down the roof tent road .
Too be honest ..the G4 cant get any worse on fuel ..so the weight of the trailer is not going to be an issue ( i hope )G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Adrian,
What is the plan for the final set up ? any phantom drawings or did you just draw it up on the back of a packet of B&H?
This is an interesting thread as I said before that I'll be starting mine soon. (ish)
I have some idea's but nothing conclusive.

Fag packets , post it notes , lots of A4 paper...everywere
Dont want to give too many secrets away yet ...but will include
Fridge , Kitchen , hot water / shower , energy center ( ) including dual batterys , inverter for mains supply ...and a few other bits .
The basic shape is just going to be a box ...but trying to utilise the space with pull out slides and storage areas .
One of the planned sketchs may have to be ditched ..other wise it would cost me a fortune in hinges and locks .G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Nice to see it from the start to where you are now.
Looking forward to the next build installments.

A little update ...had a few hours spare today so got a couple of upright supports / partitions fitted .
Then trying to work out the height of the wheel arch . Working out the travel of the wheel and a visually pleasing height .
Its pretty much identical to the D3 height in normal mode .
Im proberly going to use some "no nails " insted of the duck tape G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Ditto all the positive comments Wiggs. Looks great, I'd be interested to know what a self-build will cost compared to buying a ready made trailer.
Good work!

Thanks for all the positive comments chaps
Disco George ...im trying to keep a rough idea on the cost ..but obviously it would depend on what the individual wants ( or prepared to pay )
An example is the gas tank . Seen a nice one that would fit under the chassie ...looks great , out the way , but nearly £500 . There's no way im paying that ..i would rather just use a normal gas bottle stored somewere safe .G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
