An example is the gas tank . Seen a nice one that would fit under the chassie ...looks great , out the way , but nearly £500 . There's no way im paying that ..i would rather just use a normal gas bottle stored somewere safe .
Geezer, take a look at www.autogastanks.co.uk. I assume you want a vapour take off, not liquid. These chaps do all sorts in various sizes and also do bits like mounting frames & straps, fillers etc.
"Normal" gas bottles cost a bleedin fortune compared to filling up with autogas, which is EXACTLY the same stuff.
Example - tintent 6KG bottle (that's 11.8 litres) cost me £15.50 at the weekend. Roughly £1.30 a litre compared with 56.9p a litre at the local petrol station. I've just ordered a 30 litre one for the front locker of the tintent. Calor is actually latin for "Robbing Bas rds" you know.
Oh, great build BTW. Loving this thread. But, could you sort of, well, ahem, get on with it. We're all waiting Sir

Ent has the refillable LPG tank, and it's a great idea, you can fill up at a petrol station, so that easy and cheap (well cheaper than the bottled stuff) and also you don't have to dump a bottle that is 25% full because you know you're going to need a full one. I'm 99% certain that Ent has a guage on his so he can see how full it is.D3 HSE MY05 Auto

He actually has a refillable LPG bottle with external filler...I know as I helped fit it !!
Even that was expensive for what it is G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
Propane, Butane, LPG Autogas, anyone care to enlighten me on what's what? I ask as I have a large, 2-burner propane stove that's earmarked for the Sankey and want to make sure I cover all the angles before I start my build.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

OK, basically LPG is Liquefied Petroleum Gas.
This includes the 2 common types, Propane (red bottles & Autogas) and Butane (blue bottles)
Propane is better in cold conditions and is refillable (on a fixed tank) form LPG pumps on a petrol forecourt.
Butane has a different calorific value and you can only buy it from bottle outlets.
Both are interchangeable with the change of regulator. Some modern caravan regulators are dual purpose - will do either.
For ease go with Propane. A lot more options.
Dom.

Small Gas canisters (the sort you have for camping stoves) can be a butane propane mix. As Dom says try and get as much propane as you can as they work better in the cold.D3 HSE MY05 Auto

I'd go half inch ply with that 1mm ally sheet stuff you have in the garage, then you could screw fixings into it where ever you wanted or 3mm ally checker plate but it's pricey.Club Exped trailer
