Cheers for that Mac, looks like quite an involved job for a simple bit of kit still, if it stops it clanking around and destroying everything around it I guess it's worthwhile.
Maybe that's why the towbar was already fitted and looks like it had never been removed when I got the car Clive

Well i fitted mine this afternoon. didn't take any photos doh.
Very easy to do though.
took about 20-30mins. Me an invalid and my ancient pops.
instructions pretty good, only thing i was unsure of was cutting the carpet to mount the braket but landrover actually pre-cut the carpet how good was that.
hardest part was removing the boot floor side trim, It was very tight. The plastic trim ( the bit with instruction on) around the 6seat squab release, was very tight and i broke a couple of the clips on the reverse side. It went back in ok as there are about 6 clips hold it in.

Hi Mike yes its very tight, i had to cut some of the tie wraps holding the wires in bunches, so i could move them a little, funny thing on mine is that the strap is at the other end of the braket as opposed to the one in crwoody's photo.

Fitted mine last night. I also broke some clips but everything seems to fit back ok without them. Managed to fit without removing side panel or unbolting seat belt. Did not feel happy about doing this. The brackets for the bolts slid under the side panel and I bolted it down over the carpet. It may be possible to cut the carpet but I could not be bothered. It seems secure and should be easier to remove when the car is sold later.

Honest guys its a real easy job 2 fasteners to undo lift the floor up 1 screw and the seat belt and lift the side panel out ( not forgetting the tailgate stay) the side panel came out soooo easy.
I did think about over the carpet but just decided to follow the instructions
Hi nav yup your right of course, new part No, new design still fits though, just

Instructions? What are those. Only look at those after fitting
Did not want to remove seatbelt bolt because I did not have the correct socket only an allen key. I would not have been able to refit bolt to correct torque and as kids use this belt I thought I had better leave well alone if possible. Everything seems to fit ok as it is.

Mmm correct torque on seat belt didn't have that to hand so undid with hand held t50 quite easily, replaced and tightened up with 1/2 drive long handled ratchet to qt, didn't want to take it to ft. will find correct torque and redo.

Sorry I don't, and my hitch will not fit in there anymore as it has a Maxxraxx bike clamp attached to it - so I can't take a picture now. Before I got the bike rack I did find it a tight fit and I had to be very careful I didn't knock any of the fuses out when taking the tow bar out.1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold
