Hi all,
Recently bought the Dicovery 4 Commercial. Reasons for buying - about to move house (it’s a project), house is in a country village so, 4wd probably required in winter.
Also have a usually muddy dog.
Have a RR Classic ‘91 and a Series 3 that I’m restoring for my son.
Cheers

I'm after some advise has anyone had this or a similar problem?
Disco 3 my lad said the lights are flashing on the car so I went to look and the hazards were flashing because the car was unlocking itself. I placed the key in ignition car started as normal but when I turned car off and removed key it started again so I've had to disconnect the battery and use key to lock manually for tonight anyone experienced this?

Hello Everyone - New Joiner
Just thought I'd say hello,
I've been a Landover owner on and off for some years with a SIII 109" safari, a200TDI disco and latterly a TD5 disco all having been part of the stable at some point.
Now looking towards Landroverdom again - hopefully in the form of a Disco 3.
I'd appreciate any pointers with regards to things to check, beware of and to look out for.
Many thanks ,
Chappy

Howdy.
Been a long standing memeber of the Def2 community (last being a OM606 powered 110 DC), but sadly had to sell those. Looking for a LR fix still though, so contemplating an LR3.
Thought I'd sign up anyways .

I've recently acquired a Discovery 3 2005 SE 2.7 TDV6 Auto.
Needed some work done on it and the mechanic has now done their magic and it's running well, just in time for winter! First time Land Rover for me. Wish I could justify a Defender but I simply don't do anywhere near enough rural or off road driving to make it viable.
I have owned a 2008 57 plate D3 SE 2.7v6 for about 2 weeks. Really enjoying the car. Its full service history from new all but 2 services have been main dealer.
I have the hand books for it and according to one of them I should have a screen option for 4X4 info. It doesn't come up. is there anyone who can help me get the screen on without having to go to a dealership for it please
Not all D3 have the 4x4 Screen enabled.. You need to find a member with a IID tool to change the ccf file for yo...

Hi, newbie just wanting to say hello and get some advice. I have been looking to buy a LR for a few months adn have just put a deposit on a 2006 LR3 TDV6 S. Has extensive history mainly from Pentland LR. It has done 105k and has in the book that the Cam belts were done at 100k, no mention of oil pump cover which I have read should have been changed with the belts?? Checked the gov.uk pages and it had failed MOT’s around 40-50k on brake pipes and suspension bushes but the last 3 or 4 tests have passed with no advisories. On the test drive there were no alarms or lights showing on the dash and the (auto) box pulled well and was smooth, kick down works too. Looks a good buy but I am a bit wary due to some of the threads I have read. Any thoughts or advice?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Wizz
Welcome. The oil pump is probably one that might be susceptible to breaking so well worth getting it checked. LR have never recognised the issue so it's not surprising the main dealer wouldn't have done a pump change with the belts.

Thanks, I will try and find out if it has been done, the car seems to have been well maintained. In 2 minds to go for this D3 or wait another year and VT my current car and maybe get a D4 🤔🤔.
