Hi all - been registered on here a while as I used the excellent courier service a few months ago! Have just joined the D3 owners having bought a big grey bog standard 2005 HSE for highdays, holidays, shifting teenagers and their musical instruments around the place and greenlaning etc. It's not pristine by any means but that means I might actually use it - hard instrument cases and music centre carparks aren't a place for concourse motors and some of the lanes in Portugal are a bit scratchy! Going to leave it pretty much as is for a while other than any accessories that might be useful for what I'm intending to do with it. Next year we're intending to take it down to Portugal for some touring/off roading.
3 green ovals on the drive now - 2 FL2 and now the BGB - Big Grey Beast - will have to update the profile some!

great groupe as all land rover owners i will be needing this sight for advice 
got a 2011 Disco 4 use it for towing my fishing boat all in 2ton on twin axle.
few issues no key for hitch lock  but i see that is a hard one to get told but trying to avoid the Universal key (grinder).
and working away i get a call from wife, the tail gate is only opening when it feels like it, but seen the post for micro switch!
oh well thats me

Hi,
Me and the ball and chain purchased a Disco 3 HSE last week.
I cannot believe what a fantastic car it is, it covers all the bases for our family.
Tow car, 7 seats, very spacious and luxuries inside, lots of toys.
I’m so impressed!

Hi,
I've been perusing this site for a while and found the advice excellent. I thought I'd probably best introduce myself prior to asking for help.
I've a Disco 3 2.7TDV Man which I use daily and a 200tdi Defender 90 which is my hobby car. I'm a big fan of the LR brand, even though it can on occasion cause you to create new swear words. Cheers, James.

Hi from Oz,
I recently (early Oct) purchased a very straight, one owner, log booked and serviced D3 TDV6 HSE. Very clean car. After owning D1 and D2 for the past 9 years, a S3 before that and my association with AU Mil 'fenders, I must say I am impressed. V nice motor!
So I need to learn about these D3/4 beasties!
There has been a glitch as I have already broken it (see post in In Car Electronics by LRD414), but before I broke it I was chuffed!
I purchased it with a view to pimping it as a play car to replace my D2 which I use to give a fair hiding along the tracks and trips of Oz. However I have been informed by the good wife that it'll not be for wheelin'!
So I'll prob keep the D2 as a project!
Anyhow, cheers, hope to meet some of you someday.

Hi Martin,i recently became the owner of an Alveston red 2005 Disco 3,it's a manual,diesel, basic 5 seater badged as an S,i got it at a reasonable price as eventually it will need a gearbox (whining in 1st and 2nd and crunching into 3rd),but this does not worry me as it still drives nicely.So far i have had a MKW remap,and the wheels refurbished by Glevum wheels,i painted the calipers while waiting for the wheels to come back.The car is an import from Ireland in 2014 hence the mileage is 197000 kms.Next job is a Beanie grill .  Life is not a rehearsal......!

Hi all, I am coming here from FullFatRR.com, and I have now moved on from my Range Rover to my first Discovery 3 LHD, HSE. Ispend time between Milton Keynes, Essex and Spain.
Ifind these websites invaluable for finding out those little gems that no one tells you about when buying the car, but owners and enthusiasts know and they are so helpful and willing to share their knowledge.
As a newbie, can someone tell me is there anywhere that i can find out what options my HSE has? Whilst on that subject, is there somewhere I can find out what options would have been available for a HSE?
