Baben,
thanks for that - didn't want to start a flame war.
Would appreciate your measurements when your rack is back on - the outer cross-bar looks to be the most likely to foul the antenna.
If I understand the model descriptions (which I can't access right now) it seems there might be a higher-legged version which would be better. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Right, going to ring JJ at frogs island for a price, am I right in thinking that a minimum purchase of three is correct - assuming the price is right?
One for me, one for Drlex, one for AndrewS???
Any more?

Andrew already tried that route, not cheap! Dunno if Nick can twist JJ's arm to get the price down a bit but as Frogs aren't particularly cheap anyway it's still not going to be that great I suspect
I'm interested too if the price is good
I think Andrew is waiting for a resonse from Trekk The End

I think Frog quoted about £1,200 can't remember exactly as I went blank after the 'one thousand and.....' words were spoken. I am waiting for a reply from Trekk. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

That's way beyond where my interest stops!

I live across the road from Front Runner and can easily go and buy 3 for you guys at the local price if you arrange the collection. They had a special at R3k recently, but normal price is about R5k (divide by 12.5 for safety it's like GBP400). Dunno what the freight would cost, but it would probably be hectic, because of the size of the racks. Anyone in freight forwarding that wants to help?
Also don't think FR or their UK distributors would be too happy with us "grey importing" but I guess if friends help each other out that's different?

I too have the FrontRunner Roof rack. Excellent. There is a company next to JHB International airport called CosmoTrans that you can use for shipping! I lived in the UK for over 6 years and used them to ship stuff. A mate of mine shipped his BMW Dakar 450 to the UK using them too.
For 3 FR racks I recon about GBP100 for the lot. Delivery on that side is at Reading where the local distribution point is and they will deliver and do custom duties for a small charge (GBP80) if memory services me right. Thus BULK shipping will pay...
Just a thought...

Ironman & Baben
Thanks for the info!
I'm going to check with a couple of shipping agents i've used previously, - although I suspect Cosmotrans will be cheaper as they are based in the originating country. Do you know the weight and approximate size of a packed rack? specifically FRDISCO4002 ?

Cheers Ken, probably easier than strapping them on the roof
If we're going to get the racks direct may as well get any rack accessories required at the same time too The End
