Hi guys,
My tailgate went funny today as well
It looks like i have a different problem though, i don't hear anything clicking as the release button seems solid.
I had this problem a few weeks ago as well but it started to work again all of a sudden.
I noticed that the problem is only when it is freezing, could it freece up?
There is also another problem as i have a commercial vehicle wich means i can't get in the boot true the rear doors
So i hope that anybody has an idea for this problem.
I've parked the car with the rear facing the sun now, hope that solves it.
Has anybody faces this problem before?
Thanx, Ruud Happy are those who dream dreams and are willing to pay the price to see them come true.

Could be the actually release itself. Sounds very similar to the problem I had.
Symptoms similar to the cable/actuator, but I took a punt and replaced the switch and it was fine thereafter. When I took the old one to bits it was very corroded. Easy DIY job, part cost about UK£50.
