Fitted and working now. Took me a bit longer than expected as it didn't work the first time I tried. Don't know why, but disconnected everything and reconnected it, and it started to work.
Managed to get my gen2 ipod nano to work too. It worked fine in the main cradle, but wasn't secure. Wouldnt fit in the subcradle as the connector is in slightly the wrong place, so I filed away a few mm of the plastic at the right hand side of the sub cradle so the ipod now sits a bit more to the right and works fine.
I don't find it distracting as the backlight goes off a few seconds after any changes, button presses.
Looking forward to a demo of this on Saturday - I'd like to try before I buy!

iPod Video on SatNav screen
Hi all
Has anyone used this kit and connected the video out to the satnav screen?
Does it work? Any tricks we should know about?

Has any one tried mounting this where the Phone Cradle would otherwise go? (i.e. the Centre Cubby Box lid?
Would it work, or is Grabbity the only force holding the iPottie in place?
I am not really that interested in seeing what's playing more in a discrete mount, and therefore an uncluttered dashboard.Dave

The ipod is clipped in, so it won't fall out. Not sure if it'd physically fit with the tray in under though.IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver

US Land Rover site suggests mounting in the centre console is possible.

I've just ordered this from Nick @ Yeovil. Only thing is, not sure if an ipod mini will fit. Although he has offered to take it back if it don't. Although possibly an excuse to get an 80gb nice and shiney' suits you sir' upgrade.
Anyone use an ipod mini in theirs??

Help for the cack handed!!
Can someone who has already fitted their iPod kit give me tips on how to:
1) Remove the glove box;
2) Remove the centre console;
3) Remove the driverside air vent trim;
before I go at it with a claw hammer and need more gaffa tape than strictly necessary.....

The glovebox removal is probably the most difficult step in the instructions. It took a huge amount of force to get mine out, and you wouldn't want to be nervous about putting all your strength into pulling a bit of plastic out! There is a series of clips holding it in. You need to remove the passenger side airvent piece of trim which gives you access to get your hand into the back of the glovebox to push. I'm not sure if there's a specific way to get it out, but I sortof worked it out from the left to the right, getting the clips to release with some big pulls. Note that the lid doesn't come off, you need to hold the lid open as you remove the glovebox.
The centre console is quite easy. It sortof pivots around the top section, so grab each side on the bottom, pull, and when you've got pressure on it, pull a lot harder and the clips should release.
The air vent trim is pretty similar - 2 clips on the very bottom, so pull it at the bottom and they should release.IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
