That is how a number of us have done it using a diode protected realy to stop spikes. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

The diode is in the relay, make sure it goes in the right way round.. the diode stops back EMF..

Diode goes across the relay coil terminals to prevent the back EMF generated by the collapsing magnetic field affecting the system the coil is connected to.
It must be fitted with reversed polarity under normal operation, so anode to negative, cathode to positive. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Love the look of the D3 and D3 with spots. Would the bracket fit the D3? Is there any bounce with them on? Could the bracket take bigger spots? LFs Xgt 240?

I have made a bracket to take 4 spots, and its absolutely solid, made from 3mm steel bar. no vibration at all Duncan
