Dudes
Just been looking at the thread on 2 stroke oil in the fuel and reckon its worth a stab. Only thing is what oil and how much do you shove in ?
Let us know as soon as you can 'cause the fuel light has just come on and if the engine can't get any fuel it may start eating the back seats!
Cheers

been using a variety of manufactured fuel additives for the past 255k miles, so not conclusive evidence either way.

250ml per 40 litres, or 0.5L per 80L/full tank
Keeps the HPFP nicely lubed, and helps the diesel burn better, giving a cleaner burn, less soot/smoke etc My D3 Build Thread

Not wishing to question the experts but if adding two-stroke oil is good then why doesn't every diesel vehicle have it added on a fill up? If it's beneficial I'd do it but I'm scared to wreck the engine!

Dont get what you mean by have it added on fill up, without sounding funny would you expect the garages to implement this for little gain themselves

I use semi synthetic, must it be mineral and for what reason.1988 Range Rover
1990 Range Rover
1993 Range Rover
2001 Freelander GS
2002 Discovery TD5 ES
2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S
2007 Freelander 2 S
put it in my 2 stroke enduro bike but never put any in my cars would have thought the diesel would have the required aditives it needs to lube the fuel pump etc etc also if i put a little too much in my enduro bike all is does is make it smoke bali blue disco 4 with rear dvd's, privacy glass, pre heat system, heated steering wheel, full size spare, piano black trim, ipod cable, 20 inch wheels and i love it loads more than my TDV8 RRS, KTM 250 EXC 2 Stroke for the real off road stuff

Needs to be mineral, as it will not burn properly and will leave residues in exhaust system .

One more information to the interested reader when buying 2-T oil:Â
The "JASO" specification of 2-T oil means "Japan Automobile Standards Organisation"Â
JASO MA = for 4-stroke motorbike enginesÂ
JASO F = for 2-stroke motorbike enginesÂ
JASO FA = standard 2-T oilÂ
JASO FB = low smokeÂ
JASO FC = lowest smokeÂ
For JASO F: the higher the letter behind the "F" the better the performance of the 2-T oilÂ
For Europe, the equivalent of JASO is ISO:Â
ISO-L-EGB equals JASO FÂ
ISO-L-EGC equals JASO FBÂ
ISO-L-EGD equals JASO FCÂ
