Hi all,
I have searched, but didn't find all of the answers I was after I want to fit a second battery, yellow top type one to the space in the front on drivers side.
Do I just run cables from the main battery to the 2nd via some kind of isolator? I want to be able to charge the 2nd battery, but not run the main battery down when using the 2nd (if that makes sense).
Cables running to the back, where I plan to have some 12v sockets as well as cables running to Tow hitch for eventual connection to Sankey.
I'm sure all of this is possible, but any thoughts on what exactly I need to purchase and any tips on fitting etc? Don't suppose there's a guide out there somewhere?
Oh yes, will the alternator cope?
Cheers
Iggy/Ieuan

This is an efficient and reliable combination for keeping both batteries in good condition and supplying plenty of power it will always protect your cranking battery even if you flatten your auxillary battery. This set up will easily cope with anything you want to run from it (provided correct cable sizes and fused protection used) just need a rough idea of how much current you need at the rear. There are several other options to Traxide but Tim there is very helpful and knowledgable and the equipment is well tried and tested. There is loads of helpful info on here for the various options. I went for the Traxide USI 160 two years ago and it has performed superbly.
Cheers

I've been running a Tmax split charge and Oddessy battery fo many years. It is cheap (£80),good quality kit and was a doddle to install. I think there are pics in my gallery.
I run a Waeco CF50 on it which lives permanently in the car. Sailorboi has seen. It's very neat and you can link both batteries with the press of a button.
