Isn't the Panasonic battery a soldered in one?
I recently swapped the case on one of my keys and the original battery is in a holder just like the one shown (it is soldered to the board - pain in the *rse to get it off).
As an aside, the case I used (from eBay) states in the listing that it needs to be glued but is actually a very nice snap fit so I haven't bothered. If the above battery isn't rechargeable, you could always use one of these cases to make it easy to replace.

The key clips together nice and tight so if I have to fit a new battery at some point it shouldn't be a problem. I will put it side by side with my spare and see what the difference is.

The key on my SEAT doesn't recharge and the battery lasts for years. I have changed it once in 10 years of ownership.
Is there a reason why the LR key wouldn't last the same amount of time on a non-rechargeable battery?
Good point. My guessing is the immobiliser transponder in the LR keys are electronic. Most other keys use a passive device which is energised by the coil surrounding the key barrel.
LR made them rechargeable for a reason.
I know if you dont use a spare key for a while it wont work until you let it charge in the ignition for a while.

I have ordered one and will test for this at work when it arrives.
How long did yours take to come? Guess the Chinese new year holidays will slow things down a bit.
If this does recharge then it will be absolutely superb!

Anyone near to Southend on Sea, Essex, that could help with programming on these, for beer tokens naturally.
I doubt my local main dealer, Beadles, will help me
Hi
You will need someone with a Nanocom Evolution or a fully unlocked IID tool. The standard IID tools are paired to the the owners vehicle for programming functions.
I have a Nanocom, but i am in East Sussex 20 mins south of Tunbridge Wells. You are welcome to bring it round but you should be aware the key programming on the Nanocom is in Beta Software only, so it would be at your own risk! I used it to program mine which went smoothly though.

Looks pretty close. PCB looks well made too. Some of the soldering looks better than the original!
I like the name on the fake. Viatpon instead of Visteon! lol! Love the Chinese.

I got the same battery as an original key and it doesn't fit in the holder so I need to desolder the holder and fit the battery in its place. I will get around to it but battling man flu at the moment so there has been a delay. 10 D4 Bali Blue

I'm just about to order a new cut blank - I've used these folks for a while, upload a good quality image of your cut blade and their magic machine does the rest.
