Mine is unbranded, if you leave off the keyring attachment thing it closes fine - I've ordered another cut blank complete with fob from KitP so as long as the China electronics tronics work its still a new key for less than £50

So your using the £19 ebay fob ? that has the issue ?
Have you put the key ring in the correct place?

Is programming the new key with the IID tool the same process that criminals use to pair a key via the OBD? LR are meant to have released a software update to make the KVM read only, but various websites claim to sell tools that work despite this.
The complete keys in the post blade and case arrived within two days, and opens and closes perfectly - so I've now just got to swap the electronics from the China case and program it - which will be a 5 minute job
I've been intending to do it for over a week now ......

I purchased this key for less than £20.
Best to have the blade cut when it arrives though, as the one from keysinthepost is too long for it.

Have ordered the same fob, comes with a rechargeable battery but I can not for the life of me programme it to the vehicle. Tried it numerous times, no success.

Best ask for a refund then, if you are sure you are programming it correctly.

Tried again tonight. Same result but this time the IDD tried and failed to program the new fob. Had the key in the ignition for a 5 to 10minutes, reading the manual and checking all options under the IDD menu, and I wonder if this added some juice to the battery to allow it to be 'seen' but not enough for it to be programmed.
(checked the fob battery after the earlier attempt at 3.07v)

Tried adding charge by piggy backing the new fob onto the original.
Still unable to program. IDD either says yes instantaneously, or goes through a count and then failed key pairing. The odd thing is that when I press the unlock button on the new fob, the drivers seat goes forward and the rear tilts back.
I have sent an enquiry to IDD

I wouldn't piggy back the batteries.
But a good idea to leave the new key in the ignition for 15 mins to charge.
You are putting it in the ignition? Or very close ? It needs to be
