My key arrived too.
Not had a chance to get it cut yet or programmed yet though.
Quality looks excellent, but no Land Rover Logo on the fob Sad I have an empty case with the Logo i can swap the guts into.

I dropped into the local supermarket where they have a key cutting service. The jobs worth wouldn't cut it, said it would Censored the ECU. Rolling with laughter

So today I dropped into another branch, couldn't believe it, he cut it as a freebie..... Result. Thumbs Up

Any one tried this fella? Seems a good price and he's got good feedback.

I need to make a few things clear from my post. It will need programming to your vehicle, I am fortunate enough to own an IID tool. The total cost of key, ordering a cut blade from keys in the post (see Sean north's post) was £33.99. The fob has a Panasonic battery in it, I don't know if it's rechargeable but I can't seem to move it, but I am not experienced in electronics. I hope this helps anyone looking at these. Very Happy

Has anyone got a source/link for the rechargeable cell shown in the right hand image ? (LR original PCB)

Am pondering if the China board has the circutry to charge these - perhaps the single use/disposable cell on the left is simply to keep costs down ? - it'll likely last a good few years

I bought a new case off Amazon for mine but they suggested this as well http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-VL2330-1...V3F1R01PDl which looks like the battery. if it works you could refurb your old key for less then £15

That link is a bit mangled but suspect it's the same as these - tagged cells so will need soldering but as per the original.

Here's the cut tang link from keys in the post

A slight hitch with my cheap key replacement plan

3 weeks since I ordered one of those fobs + electronics from China - 3 days ago I ordered a cut blank from keys in the post - both arrived today - the new blank fits the lock perfectly, sadly when fitted to the new fob it doesn't fully close.

New plan is to get another cut blank, complete with fob from keys in the post (didn't know they did the fobs) and fit the China electronics

This is the same guy I sent my key away to and came back in new body with new battery for under £20.

Works fine upto now.

Yep I used him and very pleased with the result, looks and feels like genuine and did not need any reprogramming to the car Thumbs Up
