HMMMMMMMM, if the engine has trouble dealing with the standard horsepower by breaking crankshafts regularly, how will it cope with the increased horsepower and torque

I have had my new 16MY Alive tuned. The latest ad blue versions do not need the ecu removing and altering they can be mapped via obd the same as most others. It is simply amazing. It was good anyway but over 300 horse power and 0-60 in under 7 seconds is staggering in a vehicle that size. It has drastically improved the lag and lethargic drive particularly low down. i would recommend this to all sdv6 owners.

The obvious question is what are the impacts on warranty and insurance?
Thanks

I read through my LR warranty T's & C's recently and it specifically excludes cover for engine re-maps.
To maintain your cover, your insurance company will need to know and they may charge accordingly, if they agree to cover you at all.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Ive had thi conversation with a number of folk, both on hear and Def2. Its not just your warranty thats defunct, you have also altered with emissions. The vehicle is not the same as it was when you left the factory so therefore the type approval criteria may not be meet. BAS now include a 'warning' on their website following a number of conversations we had on the Def2 site.
Its the individual's call at the end of the day, but given all the other potential complications, premature engine wear, long term effects on internal components and the warranty issue, 255ish BHP is plenty in the real world.

In the real world cars are strangled purely for EU emissions targets. I have had my TD5 mapped for several years with no ill effects and now the SDV6. I would recommend it to anyone. Most land rovers do not come with bigger tyres, wheel spaces, roof racks, snorkels etc all of which have a knock effect of one type or another but it doesn't stop people doing it because it makes the vehicle more useable for their needs. I see mapping as no different.

Is there any advantage of taking car to Alive HQ as opposed to a local place? Do Alive have a rolling road?Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Alive HQ has a dyno, to quantify performance gains, but the maps are all done by Gary My D3 Build Thread

As I said, it's the owner's call. I wish you luck with any engine or transmission related claim in the future!

I would guess that the impact of tuning would raise the component failure rate to that of the 3.0L SDV6 in the RRS2.
So that will be pretty much zero then.
The D4 engine is handicapped down to the published output levels, so the Alive remap just restores balance to the force.
