Speaking to my mates brother who was a technical expert for Openreach until April this year when he just quit (with no other job) after 7 years, I think it's more to do with crappy pay, poor working conditions and Openreach wanting to "re-negotiate" contracts so he would end up doing more work for less money.. seems like very similar reasons to the lack of staff at airports, while Brexit (and I hate that word), might have a small part to play by stifling the access to cheap replacement foreign labour I'm not sure how poor treatment of employees in the UK can be blamed on Brexit? But Ivan is right in that this should be in the other thread...I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

You are the one who is whingeing. I was simply responding to Dave's posts, which raised the subject. Clearly I touched a nerve, but that wasn't my intention.
If you disagree with Clive Selley, the chief executive of BT’s Openreach, that there is a link with Brexit, tell him not me. I would think you'd be able to find him on LinkedIn. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Dragging the tin tent back from Scotland complete with grandkids in with us. Stopped at Annandalw Water to hand grandkids back to parents. Now Annandale Water service centre on their website states caravan parking. Entering service station follow the Caravan parking signs which takes one to a CAR park with parking bays marked out for cars. Obviously a caravan and towing vehicle is too long to fit into 2 car parking spaces end to end and a caravan is wider than a car.
If you are going to advertise caravan parking you need spaces to be marked out for caravans towed by cars and not car parking spaces!
Almost two years since the D4, so no more wondering if it goes missing in the night, wondering if the crank would go on the next outing, everything seemed fine till four minutes past four this morning.when I heard Alexa announce, “There is someone at the front door”.
It's why our Volvo keys live in a faraday box and we check it's still working from time to time. Really frustrating that there is no way to disable keyless entry, nor even specify the car without it. A "solution" to a problem we never had.
Three dogs and two angry humans would make life "interesting" for anyone tempted to enter the house to find the keys. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The cars that couldn’t be unlocked or started using a relay attack were all Jaguar Land Rover products, namely the Discovery, Range Rover and i-PACE. In order to keep these models safe, JLR used ultra-wide-band (UWB) technology for the key fobs, which can very accurately determine the distance between the actual key and the car.

When I registered many years ago to play the lottery online, I downloaded the T&Cs out of interest - over 100 pages.2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze

Ordered a couple of low value items from Amazon as they're not something I can get without making a fairly lengthy trip (with no guarantee they would be in stock when I get there).
You can imagine my delight when I got a notification it's been delivered. "Yay! My low value but important items have arrived!" shortly followed by "Odd, they didn't trigger the gate alarm or the CCTV"
Which is not wholly surprising, considering DPD opted to deliver to a DPD Collection Point in a town 19 miles / 40 minutes away.
The order clearly states for home delivery, with home address per my Amazon account. I've double checked the order summary and the invoice in case I had suddenly gone a bit GG and taken to typing random things in All Caps on my Amazon orders.
So off I trot to the DPD app only to get a Chatbot. Every response is "I'm sorry, the sender doesn't allow that option". If I don't collect after 7 days they will begin a returns process. This will not be quick.
I then go back to Amazon and tick the box "my items haven't arrived". Oh no, not that simple.

I'm not exactly hopping with joy right now.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
1st call handler didn't know answer to my query and put me on hold. Then cut me off without a word after 13 mins ... at least 5 of which were on hold.
2nd call handler must have been working from home. Another couple of minutes and I'd have identified what TV program at least one of his/her kids was enjoying AND the noisy toy that someone was playing with. Call handler never spoke so maybe he kid( s ) answered to stop the phone ringing ?
3rd time lucky ? sort of. after answering an "is it case A or case B" question with "yes" he at least recognised he was out of his depth and is trying to put me through to a supervisor. So I've been on hold for 50+ minutes now. There was also the strange moment he said I needed to speak to "someone in the Customer Service Team". Seemed shocked when I pointed out he WAS in that team.
