It's what the dealer thought, but they had to go through the full diagnostic procedure with LR before they would authorise them to fit the part.

I was told that they tried, but couldn't refit the fuel pump with the body in situ (which I've now been very reliably informed is extremely likely). It even might be that they've now fitted it and it still doesn't work. To be blunt, after nearly 4 weeks, I'm not sure what to think now Sad

Going to check this on Saturday:

 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: FL2 as a second car

2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!

Thanks for the comments; I thought the photos might have been a bit too much, I'll put them back in a bit Very Happy

Sorry to hear the problems are continuing, not good Big Cry

On the plus side, the Range Rover looks very nice, is it a V6 or a V8? I hope you get on ok with it.

Thanks Andy. We shall see; we're both keeping an open mind for Saturday. This one's an 8.

I was given a great tip to go to the NFU for my insurance on it and WHAT a difference. Well worth trying and it's pretty amazing what their policy covers that others won't even think about Laughing

I think a Range Rover needs to be a V8.

When I had an accident many years ago in my dad's 110 the NFU were very good at sorting it all out, but sadly they don't consider our house in Cornwall to be rural enough to cover our D4.

Things must have really changed when they insured the Defender in South East London, as I was never aware of any rural parts in New Cross!!!

Yeah, but as I've said on here in other threads, the downside is carrying two ewes and a bale of hay all the time. Laughing

With a Range Rover you only need a flat tweed cap to qualify Thumbs Up

Sorted, just need the Range Rover now as I already have the cap!

I must admit I am looking longingly at the Range Rover's now, but using the proceeds from a house sale to buy a car wouldn't be one of my smarter financial moves, but then neither was buying a Discovery......

I've driven a 6 and an 8. The 6 is smoother and more civilised, but the TDV6 is lacking a bit in the bottom end after the SDV6. The 8 is a bit more gruff, but pulls from nowhere, runs interstellar gearing and (amazingly) uses less fuel, unless you use all the power...

It's interesting about the need for a rural address.

I got her back yesterday morning. After 4 weeks.

I agreed to collect it at 8am on Saturday and it's only when I arrived that they asked me if I'd like it washed as well! And that was after they'd added over 200 miles of "extended road testing".

To my absolute horror, they've installed a roll over car wash and they were just about to put it through it, when it broke! They subsequently gave me back a wet and dirty car.

Glad you have it back and hope it is now sorted?

On the plus side, you would have done more than 200 miles in four weeks, small comfort I know, but at least that's something. I certainly wouldn't be keen on them using a car wash Shocked

Did you test drive the Range Rover?

Yes, I did Very Happy

What a car! Just about the most spacious and comfortable place that the family have ever sat down together in Very Happy Nice V8 too Thumbs Up

Just none too keen on the way it was presented for sale and the lack of flexibility of the sales staff. Strictly limiting a test drive to a round trip of 5 or 6 miles didn't help much either. Decided to look elsewhere Sad

Glad you got it back! I bet your glad to see the back of the RRS!

As for limiting a test drive to 5-6 miles when your spending FFRR money is ridiculous!

Thank you. The sales chap is aghast that I should have had a problem with it, but it's nice to know that I'm not being completely unreasonable! Thumbs Up

And yes, I'm glad to be out of the RRS! I'm sure it's great, if you like that kind of thing; it's just that it's not for me.
