That to me seems that biggest waste of time known to mankind.
I wash my D3 every few months (whether it needs it or not) and a couple of days later its all dusty and dirty again. So why in gods name would you spend a day getting it so that it dazzles people ......

It's a step beyond valeting, yawlboy. 'Detailing' tends to go into the condition of the paintwork, removing contamination, defects and damage and adding protection to prevent future build-ups of damage and dirt. The shinyness is often just an 'extra' to the maintenance. Washing may well remove dirt but as you say it will soon build up if there is not sufficient repelling protection on the paint. I'm no expert but washing is a very basic process whilst detailing is a few stages further. DISCO3's Student Correspondent...

All a matter of opinion yawlboy, each to thier own eh? Some peeps like spening dosh on expedition racks so you can't get your car in a multistory. but I'd defend thier right to spend thier hard earned on whatever they saw fit. Be a dull old world if we all liked the same thing IMHO. Nothing wrong with looking after the most expensive car I'm ever likely to purchase
Personally, I was extremely pleased with the results.
It's not until you see the results in the flesh that you can appreciate just how bad paintwork can get.
Like CY says, next wash should be a tad easier
Sending the chrome lettering back ND...just not bling enough Keeping it Claret and Blue

I like the detailed D3, but a bit of an effort every week if you want to keep it like that and do 500 plus mile in between. Silver TDV6 S with sat nav, PTI and Moosed up a bit
