PM'd Martin to add to the known issues list. I think there has been enough of these now to justify.

What took you so long? 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

I just fixed mine. Both sides, looms chaffed, driver's side was worst, despite more tape on as original. I'd thought they had sorted this problem out by modifying the loom, but obviously not.
I taped the damage, then overtaped with self-amalgamating tape to protect.
I wonder how many other have similar problems? I'll mention it to my friendly Service Manager next week and find out if they are aware.Renny Thomson

I have never had a problem with the fog lights, but my front PDC failed with the loom chaffing and wearing through.
Just fixed mine today too, both sides had gone. An easy fix, the hardest bit was getting to the fuses to replace that, and as for the spare fuses, what a total to get to, LR need shooting for that!! I took more time sorting the fuses that actually sorting the wires out. Still its done now07 SE in Java, lovin it too!!

Presume you mean your "dipped headlight " bulbs ?
If you're going through them at that rate you have a wiring problem somewhere.Personaly I wouldn't know where to look.

I guess I'm confused, a little. When I turn on the driving lights, the fog light sockets light up. when I turn on the fog lights, nothing changes --- so do I have a short most likely as well..... sorry i'm in a fog here. OK, RTFM-- first position is driving / fog lights. The term is used loosely and interchanged. The first switch position turns on the front driving/fog lights and the second position turns on the rear brake/brights (good idea by the way)... upon inspection, it was put together right and no rubbing issues.

I love this site so much. I was getting really perturbed with the fuse popping and admittedly was lazy to open up the fogs to investigate. Did my search and found a link to this post...got itchy when my family went to sleep and i got to opening things up. First fog i tried (LHD) left fog found the tell tale marking of a short on the metal beam. Taped it up and then checked the other side; nothing.
So i just have to replace my blown fuse tomorrow morning and give it a go
thanks you guys!-Greetz, Duan

Hi guys/girls had a search for fog lights and hey great forum with lots of great fixes, yes the problem was as mentioned just done this and fixed it took about 10 minutes and as mentioned in this chat yes wire N/S was cut showing bare wire and had fused.
Did get it fixed last year buy LR dealer, this was just after I puchased the car. Have not realy tried the fog lights since until a month or so ago and guess what they did not work, LRD should have known better I think maybe need to give him some advise on the forum site and what knowledge is here.
