Recently, my D3 (a manual) was also exhibiting a slight tendency for uneven revs in first & a slight surging on steady climbs.
Had the car serviced by the dealer & asked them to investigate. They said that no faults were showing, but they did a software upgrade.
Now seems perfect, again.
So, if my experience is anything to go by, it may be software related & NOT due to the gearbox - auto or manual. The Bearded Dragon

We seem to be discussing two different issues here now.
1] A juddering felt through the steering wheel whilst under initial acceleration.
2] Revs surging ie rising & falling at a maintained speed.
Are these two issues related?
Not for me, I get point 1, but not point 2. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

A juddering for me as well on part throttle when accellerating, worse on a slight hill. Stealer has just rung to say they need another 6 hours to finish job. No idea what they are doing but that will make 5 days now! No D3 for the weekend.....
I am beginning to get just a little fed up with the Volvo loan car now......... 48mpg is nice though!!! Fuel station staff are now taking the mick daily as I pull in and put 4litres in at a time!! The Stealers lent it to me with the fuel computer saying 6 miles to empty and that's how they will get it back.....

5 days
Do you think they know what they're doing??
Would be interested to know why they need your D3 for so long.
And what fix they're using to sort out the judder.
Judder seems same as mine.
ie. Initial accelerating - worse when on incline or road surface is slippy.
Or when towing.
Basically - accelerating when the front end is light [with less weight on the front wheels]. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

So Matt, that's definately fixed it has it???
It's just that you're the first one to come back stating that the double flush has been done and more importantly, that it's worked.
I've just booked mine into the Dealer for its 120k service on Thursday.
Based on your confirmation, I may now ask them to do the double flush!!

Yes it definately worked on mine ronp
At first the dealers thought it propshaft but on speaking to Landrover they instructed them to flush the gearbox twice which apparently takes a long time to do this process and since having this done i havent had any prob since , have towed with it about 3 times since and no problems
Mine had done 93,000 when it started juddering/flushed and i have done a further 5,000 since
I think they recommend change of gearbox oil at 150,000 but its gotta be the first thing to try as it worked on mine

Thanks Matt, now getting convinced it'll work.
Do you remember what the dealer charged [all in] for this? I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Sorry ronp , it was done whilst it was under warranty , not sure if you would be covered under the extended warranty if you have it

Don't expect my aftermarket warranty to cover it.
Dealer quoted me £150 initially when they came up with the suggestion.
Just want to check I'm not paying too much.
But thanks for your help. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Just spoke to the Service Manager about doing this when my vehicle is in for a service.
He said he had an issue with an RRS doing the same thing.
They changed the gearbox oil and all was well.
