Hope someone can give me some advice my disco 3 SE 2005 made a dreadful noise like a motor bike and died had the car towed home by a friend the RAC say engine has seized up but it has oil water etc and service just a few thousand miles ago (not with main dealer) does anyone have any ideas or suggestions car not under warranty anymore is this likely to be a new engine car going in to a local gargae tomorrow. helppppppp

I've just replaced a 2008 Sport TDV6 engine as it sounded like a tractor. Free play on No.2 cylinder.

It was in a RRSport, same engine as the D3! Only done 16000miles!

Drama continues told by LR it needs a new engine has anyone else had issue with engines they have quoted me £10-12k !!!!! Its no longer under warranty but surely a well maintained LR should be coevered will fight thegood fight.

The service interval for this engine is 15k or 12 months. There is no way an engine at 16k should let go.

Pretty sure the engine only costs about 3k-ish. If you are competent, it can be changed, but there is a LOT of parts to be removed, and TBH, its probably easier and quicker to lift the body off...

just looked on here they have disco 3 engines advertised from £1750, I've never had any dealings with them, I know some on here bought batteries off them recently.
they are advertising a 2007,19000 miler engine on fleabay at present for 2k.2007 TDV6 XS Auto.
