New owner
Hi all, I am picking up a disco 3 this week so wanted to say hello I’m getting a silver 2005, black leather all the normal kit plus a dvd in the roof ( the dog will enjoy that), it’s got 122k on the clock with a very comprehensive history and 12.5 k spent over the past 2 years 😜(new turbo, air pump a/c overhaul to name a few) so I’m hoping for good things from it 😀
I have a couple of queries.
I have a superchips bluefin from my old rrsport, is the superchips mapping any good for the disco?
Which is the best diagnostics tool, I’ve narrowed it to a gap iid or an icarsoft, (this is the cheaper one but no good if it doesn’t do the job)
I’ve purchased a tow bar to tow my caravan, we only use it 4/5 times a year so will this be up to the job or do I need an upgraded one if so will Land Rover still do it for free given the age of the car?
how do I find out if if it’s had all the recalls done?
Cheers
Graham

Buying a D3 Budget of £12000 - Advice
Hi,
Owned a 4x4 pick up for 7 years (sorry) but really want a Disco 3. They all seem to be 9k - 12k from 08/09 plate. Any advice on mileage to avoid or anything bad about the 2.7 engine as a friend mechanic says the 2.7 will all fail anywhere between 70k to 150k but normally around 120k ????

Hi,
Just saying hello, as I'm looking to get a D3.
Just sold my faithful D1, after 7 years, and already getting withdrawal symptoms from a green oval on the drive.
Cheers,
Matt

Yeah.. not many from Poland though, or at least left side steering wheel, anyway.

I’m sure you know his already but mobile.de and AutoScout24 are a good place to start if you’re looking for used ones besides the (possible) Polish used cars sales boards.
Check the forums for inspection checklists, what to look for, etc. I would also suggest having a LR specific OBD2 reader. At least here, most shops don’t seem to clear codes after servicing so you can get all kinds of clues from reading the history... or whether there are any active.

Thanks kajtzu, the sites familiar and checked regularly. As I understand how history and proper check are important with these I am inclining more to finding one here in the country and having it checked before buying at one of the leading LR garages. Not to mention the 20% duty they charge us here on imported cars.

At least here the dealer brand is not good enough to guarantee a good car...... do your own due diligence and inspect it really well.

Hello
Hi hope I don't have to use this forum too often to solve faults and looking forward to my first disc that I pick up tomorrow, thanks Chris. [/u]
